Dear reader,
Welcome to Inside JobTarget — a new blog series where we sit down with the people behind our products to share the stories, ideas, and insights that shape them.
In this fourth conversation, we’re diving into our Reporting and Analytics offering, which includes the Reports App, JobTarget Intelligence, and Compensation Analyzer. We'll dive into what these are, why we built them, who they're for, and how this offering is helping recruiters and hiring teams solve today’s biggest hiring challenges.
Interview with Natalie Marte, Product Manager, Reporting and Analytics.
What is the Reporting and Analytics App at JobTarget?
Natalie: At the basic level, our Reports App is a combination of advertising performance metrics and demographic information about candidates that is available through the job site or ATS.
Every customer or user has the Reports App available to them in the Platform.
We also offer custom reporting options.
What other reporting products are a part of the Reporting function at JobTarget?
Natalie: JobTarget Intelligence and Compensation Analyzer.
Tell me about Compensation Analyzer.
Natalie: Compensation Analyzer is a stand-alone product, but it's also bundled into our Programmatic 360 solution.
At its core, it's a salary benchmarking tool that provides verified Department of Labor data across job titles, industries, and regions. It's super user-friendly and a product our customers really love because of the ease of use and quick visual insights.
The user flow: Customers plug in a job title and location, select pay type (salary or hourly) then it gives them details on trends (median salary year over year, number of workers that are reported with that salary, etc.)
All in all, it helps customers make confident compensation decisions to win top talent and retain their best employees.
Tell me about JobTarget Intelligence.
Natalie: JobTarget Intelligence is a benchmarking tool that provides data on job postings that helps our customers make informed decisions backed by comprehensive market data and real-time compensation insights.
It aggregates posting data from a host of sites including Indeed, ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, etc.
JobTarget Intelligence provides two customized report dashboards including:
- Market+: combining industry, job-specific, and location-based insights
- Competitors+: detailed competitors and job posting and hiring data
You can filter by industry, job title, location, and company to uncover the insights you need to optimize your recruitment strategy.
We recently embedded JobTarget Intelligence into the JobTarget Platform for Programmatic 360 customers. They are now able to generate their own reports or make adjustments to filters and parameters (location, job titles, etc.)
What is the purpose and value of JobTarget Intelligence?
Natalie: The purpose is to arm our customers with more actionable data — data to support job posting recommendations, to show what competitors are doing, and to paint a picture that tells you what the industry and market are doing.
But the value is two-fold.
Our customers have immediate access to job and industry data. So, there's a feeling of ownership and control there to be informed as data comes in.
Next, that very data can be overwhelming and complex. Our Relationship Managers sit with our customers and help them break it down — dissecting and analyzing in order to direct and empower their data-driven decision making.
With both of these values combined, our customers are able to feel more equipped and confident in their recruitment strategy each quarter.
Why is JobTarget Intelligence and the suite of JobTarget Reporting solutions worth a customer's attention and money?
Natalie: JobTarget's suite of reports gives customers the opportunity to analyze all of their previous efforts, study their performance and what they've spent, compare this data to their competitors, and begin to strategize for the future.
Specifically, JobTarget Intelligence, gives you a 14-month trajectory, which gives you an immediate edge with your competitors.
It's one thing to post jobs and study individual performance, but when you aggregate all of the data together and pair it with industry data, market performance, competitive data, and salary benchmarks, it gives you a much larger picture of where you stand.
JobTarget Intelligence gives customers the opportunity to make more intelligent hiring decisions, which in turn, saves them time and money.
How is JobTarget Intelligence a relevant and efficient product for customers even when there are hiring slowdowns, economic ruts, and other critical market conditions that impact shifting budgets and priorities?
Natalie: JobTarget Intelligence doesn't just provide data on what customers have previously done, but it gives customers insights on how to plan for the future. So even if you're not running any jobs or maybe just a few jobs, JobTarget Intelligence allows you to reflect and strategize.
For example, some customers may be asking, "so what do the next 3 months look like for us? 6 months?" Take a look at what leaders in the industry have done in previous quarters to gain insight on what you should be paying attention to.
Customers now have the opportunity to be directly involved with JobTarget Intelligence data and how it's presented to them. They can generate searches, drill down visuals, make adjustments to filters, create tables, and export data in different ways.
So it's not always about what you're currently investing, but how you're making the most of what you have and where you should invest in your hiring strategy.
How does someone access JobTarget Intelligence?
Natalie: It can be accessed by going to the Reports App in our Platform. It is packaged as a stand-alone product and it is also bundled within our Programmatic 360 solution.
How do you see the Reporting function (Reports App, JobTarget Intelligence, and Compensation Analzyer) at JobTarget growing in the future?
Natalie: We want our customers to feel armed with reliable and meaningful data that helps them make better hiring decisions and win the best talent. Because of that mission, our team is consistently refining our customer's experience with JobTarget data. We want to incorporate new methods to deliver data, visualize data, and surface the data that tells a story. We're always working to make our products more intelligent, so our customers feel more intelligent in their recruitment strategies.
