In this eighth conversation, we’re diving into Apply Systems and Easy Apply — what they are, why we built them, who they're for, and how they're helping recruiters and hiring teams solve today’s biggest hiring challenges.

 

Interview with Myles Peterson, Senior Director, Platform Systems.

 

Tell me a little bit about what you do at JobTarget.

Myles: I strategize how our technology works with different infrastructure, APIs, and other companies. I basically help our technology talk to other technologies.

I oversee Apply Systems, including Easy Apply. My job is to ensure that all the projects we work on align with our technology ecosystem, the company's broader goals, and and how we are pacing towards meeting those goals for our partners and customers. 

 

Can you describe what Apply Systems means at JobTarget? 

Myles: Apply Systems helps drive application conversions and track performance metrics on job sites.

There's a lot that we do behind the scenes to make sure this is set up efficiently and operating at scale for our customers. We work with several Job Sites and the Partnerships team to collect and deliver Easy Apply applications to our customers. 

 

Why does it matter?  

Myles: Delivering and tracking job applications is at the core of what we do. On the job seeker side of the application process, it's crucial to provide an experience that encourages them to convert.

 

Easy Apply is a core component of Apply Systems at JobTarget. Who is it built for? 

Myles: The purpose of Easy Apply is threefold. It's built for candidates to have a more seamless application experience.

For recruiters, that seamless experience helps increase conversion rates on their jobs. 

And for our ATS partners, Easy Apply allows them to close gaps in the connection between job sites, job applications, and their ATS.

 

What problem does it solve?

Myles: At a high level, Easy Apply provides speed and simplicity to the application process. For candidates, it's easier to apply to a job. For recruiters, they are able to capture more candidates at a faster rate.

JobTarget Easy Apply is available on all jobs posted through JobTarget, no matter what site you want to post to. 

 

What does it help recruiters do?

Myles: It speeds up the application flow of information. The Apply process, as a whole, has many parts. This is a more succinct way of gathering data and having it flow right into your ATS. 

Application volume would drop dramatically without Easy Apply.

 

Why should companies invest in it? 

Myles: There are many jobs that don't get applies because the application experience is too long, too rigid, or broken entirely. Easy Apply is able to contribute to 4x more applicants on JobTarget jobs. 

Whether it’s using a job site’s one-click process, capturing mobile applications, or serving additional screening questions, JobTarget helps bring ease to a universally broken process.

 

How has the product gotten better since its launch?

Myles: We've established relationships with many more job sites. The more we grow that ecosystem, the easier it is for both the candidate and the ATS to have a smoother flow of information that's being captured, and an all around better recruiting and hiring experience.

 

How does this product connect with others within the JobTarget ecosystem?

Myles: It’s included with JobTarget's Marketplace and Programmatic solutions, at no extra cost.
