Tasks of Position

The following are core and essential responsibilities of this position. Associates are responsible for completing any and all duties assigned as required for the successful operation of our business. All associates are required to perform their job duties in a manner which upholds the integrity and honesty of our company.

• Reporting for assigned shifts on time, and on a regular basis, prepared to provide excellent service and leadership.
• Mentoring new associates or associates who are new to the department or task and assuring a positive learning environment.
• Compiling and maintaining accounts payable records by performing the following duties:
• Verifying and entering invoices to be paid that have been appropriately authorized.
• Updating vendor information for terms, taxpayer ID, address, and any other necessary information.
• Answering all vendor and store inquiries.
• Preparing accounts payable checks.
• Printing accounts payable reports and maintaining all accounts payable files.
• Find a way to “Make Our Guests Crazy About Us!”
• Operating (at minimum) the following equipment: phone, fax machine, calculator, printer(s), copy machine, general office tools, computer, and software including: Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and the ability to learn other accounting software as needed.
• Ensuring all work performed in the office is completed in accordance with work rules, company policies, and any applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED; and a minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of retail grocery store bookkeeping is desirable, but not required for this position.

• Language Skills

Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Writes routine reports and correspondence. Communicates effectively and pleasantly with customers, vendors and fellow associates at all times.

• Mathematical Skills

Calculates figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Performs mathematical skills using units of American money and weight measurement.

• Reasoning Ability

Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Deals with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Other Qualifications

This position requires proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other related software products. Knowledge of FMS software desired, but not required. Must be flexible, and able to manage and determine priority of work on a self-directed basis.
