About This Position

We are seeking a Business Development Associate to play a key role in supporting Clearstead Advisors’ growth initiatives across Institutional and Private Client Services.

This position involves assisting Managing Directors with business development activities, supporting Advisory Solutions outreach, coordinating prospect engagement, and contributing to the preparation of proposals and presentations. The role also includes collaboration with the marketing department and lines of business to identify, track, coordinate, and measure client charitable support and events, industry conferences, and other networking opportunities.

This position has the potential to work from home up to two days per week after an initial training period.

In this position you will:

Prospect Outreach:

  • Conduct periodic outreach to prospects and leads for Advisory Solutions.
  • Assist in scheduling and preparing for introductory meetings and follow-ups.

Proposal & RFP Support:

  • Collaborate with Managing Directors to prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) responses and client presentations.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of all proposal materials.

CRM & Marketing Tools:

  • Ensure all leads and prospect information are accurately entered and updated in Salesforce or HubSpot to support business development efforts.
  • Coordinate with marketing to manage and execute lead generation tactics and campaigns
  • Monitor and report on pipeline stages, opportunities, and follow-up actions to maintain visibility and accountability across the team.
  • Assist in training team members on best practices for maintaining clean and organized pipelines.
  • Help onboard new users to CRM and marketing tools, providing guidance on workflows, reporting, and integration with marketing campaigns.

Business Development Support:

  • Provide administrative and strategic support to Managing Directors for Institutional and Private clients.
  • Assist with event coordination, marketing campaigns, and other initiatives to drive growth.
  • May occasionally join the business development team in attending networking events, industry conferences, and educational seminars.
  • Support marketing department and lines of business to identify, track, coordinate, and measure client charitable support and events, industry conferences, and other networking events.

Sales Operations:

  • Monitor and maintain pipeline hygiene to ensure accurate forecasting.
  • Support lead qualification and assignment processes within Salesforce.
  • Assist in creating dashboards and reports to track KPIs such as conversion rates and pipeline health.
  • Document and optimize business development workflows for efficiency.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to be detail oriented and proactive.
  • Capability of working well in a fast-paced environment, organizing and managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to follow-through and meet critical deadlines.
  • Comfort level dealing with high-level decision makers.
  • Ability to engage professionally with client-facing communication.
  • Committed to quality in every facet of the position and with high standards for professionalism and ethics.
  • Interest in financial services and advisory solutions.
  • Preferred but not required: Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, and responding to RFP requests.
