Human Resources Generalist 3

Position Specifics: Continental Maritime of San Diego is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support our operations. This position implements Human Resources policies as a generalist, partnering with business operations to ensure a complete understanding of business needs and objectives and resolves HR issues. The position is responsible for and/or serves as an HR liaison for most of the following areas: succession planning, talent management, labor relations, performance management, employee relations, compensation, health and welfare benefits, talent acquisition, leave management, onboarding, AAP/EEO compliance, and/or training and development. Must be competent with industry practices, techniques, and standards. Qualified individual must have demonstrated experience handling multiple tasks in a fast paced, high demand environment and possess excellent communication, innovation, and organization skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or Organization Development or 5 years of related experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, high demand environment.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Extensive knowledge and strong understanding of California Labor Law and regulations.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with application tracking system.
  • Experience administering employee benefits, plans, recruitment and compensation plans.
  • US Citizenship required.
