Job Description
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday 35 hours/week
Duration: 1 year contract, starting December 2026 or January 2027
Location: On-site at 280 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa
Annual Salary: $65,000 - $85,000
Additional Compensation: health and dental benefits, a bi-weekly phone allowance, paid sick and personal days

Role Description:
Beechwood's Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in managing and supporting the workforce to ensure operational efficiency and compliance. This position is responsible for overseeing leave management and benefits administration, ensuring employees receive accurate and timely support regarding their entitlements. The role requires close collaboration with management and employees to address HR-related inquiries, resolve issues, and implement policies that foster a positive work environment. The HR Generalist will also contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations initiatives, aligning HR practices with organizational goals. Ultimately, this role ensures that the company maintains a motivated, well-informed, and compliant workforce that supports their dynamic needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario employment laws, particularly regarding leave management and benefits administration.
- Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
- Experience supporting workplace health and safety; knowledge of JHSCs is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or equivalent designation preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer employee leave programs, including statutory leaves, vacation, and other absences in compliance with Ontario employment laws.
- Oversee benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and communication of employee benefits packages.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding leave and benefits inquiries, providing clear and accurate information.
- Collaborate with management to implement HR policies and procedures that support workforce management and regulatory compliance.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, and support managers in onboarding new hires.
- Maintaining employee records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support employee relations by addressing concerns, facilitating conflict resolution, and promoting a positive workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment standards and health and safety regulations.
