Schedule
The schedule for the Aquatics Intern will be as follows: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 4 – 7:30pm; Wednesday or Friday 4 – 7:30pm; and Saturday 9:30am – 4:30pm.
Job Summary
The Aquatics & Recreation Programming Interns will support aquatics operations and recreational programming while learning foundational skills in youth engagement, safety, and program coordination. This experience introduces interns to career pathways in aquatics and recreation through hands-on participation in programming, customer service, and daily facility operations. Interns will work alongside certified aquatics staff and recreation coordinators, gaining real-world exposure to the skills and responsibilities that support a thriving community fitness facility. This is a learning-centered internship. The intern will be mentored throughout the internship by their supervisor and will participate in professional development activities, team meetings, and real-world tasks as a core part of the experience. Training in CPR, First Aid, AED, will be provided by V3 upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Assist certified lifeguards and swim instructors with pool-side supervision and class setup.
- Help prepare and organize aquatic equipment and supplies before and after programming sessions.
- Observe and support swim lesson instruction for youth participants under staff supervision.
- Assist with planning and leading recreational activities, games, and structured programming for youth participants.
- Help facilitate group fitness sessions, open recreation periods, and special programming events.
- Engage positively with youth participants to create a welcoming and energetic environment.
- Support program setup, material preparation, and clean-up for daily programming.
- Greet and assist members, guests, and program participants in a professional and friendly manner.
- Assist with daily facility walkthroughs to ensure spaces are clean, organized, and ready for use.
- Support inventory checks for equipment and supplies in the pool and recreation areas.
- Help monitor and maintain a safe, orderly environment throughout the facility.
- Complete basic administrative tasks such as participant attendance tracking and daily logs.

- You can swim 25 yards with rhythmic breathing.
- You can tread water for 2 minutes.
- You have knowledge and experience with diverse groups of people of all socioeconomic conditions.
- You possess strong communication skills and can manage multiple priorities.
- You can maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers and the public.
- You have access to reliable transportation.
