Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Salon Manager
SUPERVISOR: Director of Operations
As the Salon Manager, you will be the “go-to” person in the salon and have ultimate responsibility for everything and everyone in the space. You will be the Wayshower of exceptional customer service with every guest and team member. You will ensure that the salon meets budget, company goals, and licensing requirements. To succeed, you will need to be adept at building and leading effective teams, have outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities
Daymaking

Team Leadership

- Keep accurate records of staff training, reviews, and coaching
Guest Service
- Be the face and presence of your location, visible throughout the day to all guests and team members
- Promote and monitor service quality through training, feedback, and acting as a positive role model
- Be available to guests to address their questions or concerns
- Ensure that guests are happy with their experience and service
- Create back-up plans to address guests’ needs in the event of the unexpected
- Empower staff to use their best judgment within Juut guidelines to provide exceptional customer experiences
Staffing & Productivity
- Manage salon budgets and staffing/productivity projections through appropriate staffing, inventory levels, and expenses
- Manage the schedules of the service providers
- Provide balanced coverage of service providers and support staff to ensure outstanding customer service and support salon budget
- Meet salon’s guest retention and customer satisfaction score goals
- Ensure that a manager is always present to serve guests and support staff
- Alternate opening and closing shifts with the Assistant Manager; some days you will be available to greet staff as they arrive, other days you will be in the salon with the last guest
- Work at front desk at key times to demonstrate best practices
Inventory
- Monitor and maintain proper inventory level for salon needs; work with Operations to achieve appropriate min/max levels of all products
- Place orders for Aveda and non-Aveda products and supplies
- Process returns regularly
- Complete or oversee the completion of regular cycle counts to ensure accuracy of recorded inventory
Facility
- Ensure your salon meets Juut’s standards of excellence in cleanliness, product display, etc.
- Monitor facility needs (repair and maintenance) and communicate with the Resource Center
- Ensure the salon is compliant with all State Cosmetology laws and regulations and all necessary licenses are posted

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, secondary schooling preferred
- 2+ years managing a team of 30+ people in a salon, spa, or retail environment (college degree in business, management, hospitality, or related program may be considered in lieu of experience)
- Availability to work salon schedule – nights and weekends required
- Proficiency with common business software, including POS system
