Who we’re looking for:

Veteran Benefits Guide is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Product Manager II to help enhance and optimize our business operations platforms and internal systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning business needs into clear, actionable solutions and thrives at the intersection of product, operations, and technology.

Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, you will play a key role in supporting product roadmap execution, gathering and documenting business requirements, and partnering with internal stakeholders and technical teams to deliver impactful improvements. You will help ensure that business needs are accurately captured, prioritized, and translated into development-ready work that supports operational success.

What You’ll Do:

Product Planning and Roadmap Execution

  • Support execution of product and platform roadmaps developed in partnership with Product leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Translate roadmap initiatives into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and development-ready work items.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews to understand business needs, pain points, and opportunities.
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and process impacts associated with planned enhancements.
  • Analyze current-state and future-state business processes and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide business insights and recommendations to support prioritization and planning.

Product Delivery and Requirements Management

  • Create, manage, and maintain Jira tickets, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Own requirements documentation and backlog refinement activities.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, system administrators, and technical partners to ensure requirements are clearly understood.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing and validate solutions against documented business requirements.
  • Support release readiness activities and post-deployment validation.
  • Maintain documentation related to product enhancements, business processes, and system changes.
  • Support knowledge transfer and documentation for internal users and support teams.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Assist with requirements gathering and validation with internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate updates, timelines, and priorities clearly across business and technical groups.
  • Participate in product demos and feedback sessions to ensure solutions meet expectations.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, solution reviews, and stakeholder sign-offs.
  • Support change management, training, and adoption initiatives.

Product Optimization and Business Systems Support

  • Monitor system usage and identify opportunities for process and platform improvements.
  • Analyze operational metrics, user feedback, and data quality trends.
  • Assist with issue triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution efforts for business applications and related platforms.
  • Partner with technical teams to prioritize defects and enhancement requests.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across business operations systems.
  • Assist in tracking key performance indicators, including adoption, process efficiency, and data quality.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3–5 years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Business Systems Analysis, or a related role.
  • Strong experience gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and development tickets.
  • Experience managing backlogs and work items in Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and software delivery lifecycles.
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder meetings, discovery sessions, and requirements workshops.
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for technical teams.
  • Experience working with enterprise business systems and cross-functional teams preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with AI tools, AI-enabled business solutions, or emerging AI technologies is a plus.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Experience leading and developing direct reports.
  • Strong background in lead generation and digital advertising.
  • Working knowledge of Google Ads, marketing analytics, and campaign optimization.
  • Experience managing agencies, vendors, and marketing budgets.
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute effectively.
  • Experience serving Veteran audiences or understanding military and Veteran culture is strongly preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience will also be considered.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • Opportunity to mentor junior team members over time.
