CPLC’s Growth Opportunity Project serves justice-involved youth ages 15 to 18. We provide paid work experience, mentorship, and career placement. Education is a key component. Our goal is to reduce recidivism and empower youth with the skills, support, and opportunities they need to succeed long term.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?

    As a Case Manager, you will provide comprehensive services of CPLC's Growth Opportunities program to program participants. You will support, encourage, and guide youth to increase the success of goals and objectives and a healthy outlook on life. You will be responsible for outreach and recruitment, coaching of the Individual Service Strategy (ISS), provide occupational and skills training, coordinate services provided by Youth Basic Education providers, and other educators and coordinate supportive services and follow-up/retention services. You will communicate regularly with educators, mentors, and other professionals, generate reports, and produce and maintain comprehensive online and/or physical case files. You will reach out to employers to set up company tours and job shadowing opportunities, coordinate with guest speakers/presenters, and invite employers to job fairs.
WHO YOU ARE:

    You are a coach - you will work with participants in completing an IDP (Individual Development Plan) which address barriers, implements education, employment, development, and training goals You are great at outreach and generating public interest in CPLC Workforce Solutions Programs, planning and implementing outreach activities and promotional campaigns You are conscientious and detail oriented in updating case notes & files per contractual and CPLC’s requirements You are a relationship builder and can develop and maintain working relationships with educational and community partners to establish referral networks
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education /Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field and two years of experience in casework management, working with youth, or related activities
  • Any other equivalent combinations of experience, education and training which provides the ability to perform job duties
  • Effective coaching techniques and procedures
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, public speaking, problem-solving, analytical skills, multi-tasking, organizational skills, leadership, and time management
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Office365 (Preferred)
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver’s license and able to drive participants on occasion
  • Have the cultural competency to engage effectively with youth and their families
  • Lead with vulnerability to cultivate trust
  • See participants as the future of our city, state, and our nation
