POSITION SUMMARY

Full charge bookkeeping duties for Island Enterprises Inc, Salish Seafood performing a variety of accounting duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Prepare, process and maintain payroll system.

· Ability to deal with complex payroll calculations and reconcile to the general ledger.

· Perform accounting duties such as processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other fiscal transactions.

· Prepares financial information detailing transactions and prepares other reports to summarize current and projected financial positioning.

· Compiles financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.

· Reviews and verifies general ledger balances.

· Prepares journal entries for general ledger.

· Reconciles check register, purchases, vendor statements and account detail.

· Prepare periodic reports for management use and analysis.

· Works closely with the Controller in reporting and monitoring the accounting system and financial activities of Island Enterprises entities.

· Verifies and prepares documents for payment and deposits.

· Maintains a fixed asset accounting system.

· Maintains filing system for all financial transactions and data.

  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will have no supervisory responsibilities.

Language Skills:

? Ability to read and interpret documents, and procedures manuals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, vendors and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, fractions and ratios to practical situations. Ability to express abstract concepts using numbers.

Reasoning Ability:

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Paylocity and Sage 100.

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education Required:

· High School Diploma/GED and 5 years relevant experience with a minimum of 20 credit hours in accounting. OR

· Associate of Arts Degree in a related field and 3 years progressive work experience. OR

· Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and 1 year progressive work experience.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Other Requirements: Must be able to pass a criminal background check and follow the Squaxin Island Tribe's drug policies. This position requires strict confidentiality.
