Job Overview:

Under the supervision of a Department of Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor or Manager, the Cook Helper completes tasks as outlined in the job flow for the daily position assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Knowledge of food production, service and sanitation required

• Prior cooking experience in a healthcare facility.
• Position may require you to work every other weekend depending on the department’s needs.

Preferred:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Culinary Degree or Certification. Serv Safe Certified
• Prior experience in food service preferred
• Knowledge of food production, service and sanitation required

Scheduling Requirements

• Shift: Evening
• Status: Per Diem
• Hours: Scheduled to work based on department needs.

Essential Functions:

• Complete tasks as outlined in the job flow for daily position assigned
• Retrieve, prep and prepare items according to the daily production sheets and recipes.
• Follow all HACCP guidelines for food and physical safety.
