About This Position
JOB TITLE: X-Ray Technician (TEMP TO PERM)
EMPLOYER: Progressive Spine & Orthopaedics
SUMMARY:
Serves as initial contact for all patients visiting the office. Also serves as the X-Ray Technician which duties include explaining procedures to patients, calibrating imaging equipment and preparing results.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Following instructions from physicians regarding which area of the patient’s body needs imaging.
• Talk the patient through the procedure and answer questions to lower their anxiety.
• Correctly position the patient, adjust the imaging equipment to the specified position.
• Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient.
• Follow correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding.
• Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs, and placing
orders.
• Keeps x-ray area organized.
• Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Active New Jersey Radiologic Technologist license required
• ARRT certification in Radiology (R.T.(R)) required
• A minimum of 2 years working experience in a healthcare facility as an x-ray or radiology technician preferred; however, not required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety infection control, and patient care protocols
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to share updates with patients and other medical staff
• Superb customer service skills to provide ongoing support to patients and their families
• Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
• Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
• Professional appearance and demeanor are always required

• Maintain confidentiality and protect the Practice by abiding by laws and principles related to confidentiality; keeps information concerning Practice Operations, patients, and employees confidential.
Pay Transparency Statement:
In accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act, this role falls within Pay Grade 10 of the 2025 OPM Salary Table for the NY, NJ, CT, and PA region. Compensation is commensurate with experience and education.
