Coordinator, Human Resources

The University of Illinois Foundation (Foundation) is the official fundraising and private gift-receiving organization of the University of Illinois (University). It works closely with alumni and friends, faculty and staff, corporations and foundations, as well as campus development professionals to create fundraising programs and opportunities that benefit the University.

This position is responsible for performing a variety of designated human resource operational activities including talent acquisition, wellness programs, staff engagement, and rewards and recognition. This position will also focus on compiling and analyzing a variety of HR-related metrics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Administers and facilitates UIF’s talent acquisition practices. Implements creative recruiting strategies to maintain a qualified pipeline of candidates for UIF positions. Acts as the primary liaison to hiring managers during hiring processes. Works with managers to create, update and maintain job descriptions in alignment with UIF practices.

2. Facilitates and directly administers all processes required for job offers, including background/reference check compliance and offer letters. Responsible for documentation and communications for all practices and procedures for talent acquisition processes. Assists with the coordination and preparation for the onboarding process of new employees.

3. Leads the coordination of all employee engagement and recognition activities including the coordination of Wellness activities and events, as well as any support needed during the activities or events. Administer and communicate employee rewards and recognition programs. Administration of UIF’s Well Designation and operates the Wellness Committee.

4. Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS), management and employee surveys, exit interviews, and other sources. Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, engagement, and turnover.

5. Works as part of a wider HR operations team to deliver high standards of service while consistently following the law and policy of UIF.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, related field, or equivalent work experience

· Minimum of three years of human resources experience with proven progression of duties

· Proven ability to act independently while exercising good judgment

· Excellent communication skills - verbal and writing

· Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

· 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources

· General knowledge of laws and regulations relating to recruiting, hiring, and HR policy in Illinois.

· HR certified (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) desired.

The starting salary range for this position is projected to be $55,000-$60,000 per year. While our job postings include salary ranges, your compensation will be based on your specific experience and qualifications—we're not limited by these posted ranges.
