Allient Inc. is currently offering an internship opportunity with our Accounting Department in Oshkosh, Wisconsin! The Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on accounting experience and learn about the various aspects of the accounting functions in a publicly traded company. The Accounting Intern will perform general accounting duties as assigned to assist in the maintenance of the general and subsidiary ledgers, maintain vendor files, obtain proper approval to pay vendor invoices, code and enter accounts payable (AP), reconcile petty cash, process credit card payments, and perform other accounting related tasks! Responsibilities:

• Assist with obtaining proper approvals of non-purchase order related vendor invoices. Document the distribution of the documents to the appropriate SNC personnel and verify that the documents are returned and entered into AP within the period invoiced by the vendor.
• Assist with vouchering vendor invoices into the accounting system that match a receiving against a valid purchase order in the system, both in price and quantity. For vendor invoices that do not match, signed approval by the buyer issuing the purchase order must be received before entry into the accounting system. This approval must be obtained and the voucher entered within the accounting period that the vendor invoice is dated.
• Respond to vendor inquiries relating to open invoices and payments in regard to status and/or date paid. Issues relating to vendor issues should be forwarded to the appropriate purchaser.
• Work with the purchasing department to maintain vendor contact information, W-9’s, etc.
• Assist with maintaining and reconciling petty cash accounts.
• Call about the status of unpaid customer invoices past their due dates. Maintain record of these calls and inform the accounting manager and sales about customers’ issues with payments of invoices.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be pursuing an associates or bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office Suite
