Job Description

  • Conduct general bookkeeping duties including bill entry and general ledger coding. This will include entering and coding all bills received in our property management software, as well as journal entries for intercompany transactions as needed.
  • Review, approve, and code expense reports for other members of the property management team
  • Process payables in a timely manner, which includes printing checks for owner signature and scheduling ACH payments for online payables
  • Communicate and coordinate with the bank for loan payments and ACH payments as needed
  • Cash management and planning for the month
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Process and apply tenant payments
  • Prepare and process bank deposits for physical checks received for rent payment
  • Manage tenant delinquencies and collections, assist with eviction filings as needed
  • Assist tenants with payment and account questions as needed
  • Compile necessary bills and documents for construction draw requests
  • Run reports such as Rent Rolls, AR reports, Renewal Option reports, Vacancy Reports etc.
  • General filing responsibilities as needed
  • Act as a liaison between tenants and property management, this includes answering the phone for the billing extension
  • Receive, organize, and enter property tax bills as received. Coordinate and schedule payment as bills become due
  • Coordinate with property management team to process security deposit refunds to past tenants
  • Issue POs to members of property management team when purchasing items from vendors where credit is accepted
  • Knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Employment history or education that demonstrates the application and usage of accounting knowledge
  • College degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field, and/or equivalent experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to organize and synthesize data into reports for decision making
  • Ability to communicate with tenants and provide excellent customer service
  • Property management experience a plus, but not required
