This role leads the advancement services function within a mission-driven nonprofit organization focused on creating meaningful impact for military and veteran-connected families.
You will oversee fundraising data, CRM operations, reporting, analysis, and prospect research to strengthen development strategy and decision-making.
As a key Salesforce expert, you will ensure fundraising information is accurate, consistent, accessible, and strategically useful across the organization.
You will partner closely with frontline fundraisers, senior leaders, technology teams, and other stakeholders to improve fundraising operations and efficiency.
The role combines data expertise, prospect research, technology enablement, and relationship-building in a highly collaborative environment.
You will also help establish scalable processes, strengthen data integrity, and introduce technology solutions that support the growth of the development function.

- Lead the advancement services function, overseeing fundraising data management, reporting, analysis, prospect research, and related operational activities.
- Serve as the primary Development expert on Salesforce, managing accounts, data fields, reports, dashboards, and other fundraising records.
- Provide Salesforce guidance, training, and one-on-one support to development team members and other departments as needed.
- Act as the primary liaison between Development and Technology teams, communicating priorities, resolving CRM issues, and aligning technology capabilities with fundraising needs.
- Support Salesforce Agentforce as an end-user liaison, particularly across opportunity management, account creation, and interaction tracking.
- Collaborate with Technology teams to develop technology and AI-enabled solutions that improve user experience and operational efficiency.
- Lead prospect research activities and serve as the internal expert on iWave and related research resources.
- Produce detailed, hyperlinked donor profiles and prospect screening reports to support fundraising strategy.
- Research and maintain accurate prospect and donor information using reliable external and internal sources, ensuring relevant data is captured in Salesforce.
- Develop and maintain standardized fundraising reports and dashboards that provide a consistent source of truth for key development metrics.
- Design and implement ongoing data hygiene processes to improve the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of fundraising information.
- Monitor and audit revenue data in Salesforce, including opportunities, pledges, and transactions.
- Partner with Technology teams to regularly review and improve Salesforce standard operating procedures and workflows.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic fundraising initiatives and broader organizational priorities.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in fundraising, advancement services, development operations, or a closely related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, management, public relations, social work, English, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce and fundraising or donor data management, including reports, dashboards, opportunities, accounts, and related records.
- Strong understanding of nonprofit fundraising operations and best practices.
- Experience managing administrative processes such as record management, documentation, note-taking, scheduling, and data maintenance.
- Strong research capabilities, particularly in fundraising, donor research, business intelligence, or related environments.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Canva, Salesforce, and Hive, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master new technology platforms.
- Familiarity with prospect research platforms such as iWave is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data, processes, and technical concepts clearly to different audiences.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and across different functions.
- Familiarity with the military community or membership-driven organizations is preferred.
- Willingness to participate in occasional overnight travel for staff gatherings, planning retreats, and organizational events.
- Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, or holidays when necessary.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Anticipated starting salary range of $79,000–$109,000 USD.
