As a Staff Accountant I/II you'll be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, responding to customers, processing transactions for the month-end and year-end close process, and providing accounting support to the Accounting, Sales, and Operations teams. You'll work with a collaborative team of high performers and contribute to the success of our rapidly growing business.
RESPONSIBILTIES
- Prepare journal entries, monthly accrual analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, prepaid expense entries and reconciliations, inventory analysis and reconciliations, sales tax filings, and other analysis prepared in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with monthly close process to generate timely monthly internal financial statements
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies, as needed
- Daily activity as needed associated with customer transactions, communications, and troubleshooting billings
- Assist other departments with coding expenses, recording transactions, and manage the bi-weekly payables process.
- Other specific duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- 2+ years' experience with accounts receivable, payables, and general accounting preferred
- General understanding of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP)
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/ year-end close process preferred
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks or NetSuite required
- Customer centric, self-motivated problem solver
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel - pivot tables, v/h look-up, writing formulas, and manipulating workbooks with many formulas
- Organized and detail oriented
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Strong aptitude to learn new software
- IT/IS background a plus
- Standard work hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm
