Staff Accountant at Multisource Mfg – Minnetonka, Minnesota

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Staff Accountant prepares, maintains, and processes accounting records and financial transactions, including accounts receivable, bank transactions, fixed assets, inventory, and prepaids.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

• Create invoices and transmits to customers
• Receives and applies payments for customer invoices
• Communicates with customer on balances due, discrepancies, and inquires
• Maintain monthly inventory reports and create journal entries
• Analyze inventory reports and resolve any issues
• Records fixed asset depreciation, additions, transfers, and disposals
• Conducts periodic fixed asset audits
• Amortizes prepaid expenses monthly
• Assists in month-end close processes
• Performs monthly account reconciliations
• Prepares monthly reports for bank covenants
• Assists in annual audit schedules
• Assists with other accounting projects; prepares and distributes reports as requested
• Conform to the company quality system procedures, as documented
• Performs other duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Two-year associate degree in accounting required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Computer experience and knowledge of Microsoft programs with proficiency in Excel. Working knowledge of bookkeeping theories, practices, and accepted office procedures – some knowledge of intermediate accounting procedures.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2 years of general accounting experience.

SKILLS ABILITIES: Ability to learn JobBOSS manufacturing software. Demonstrates attention to detail.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Able to perform typical office duties. No heavy lifting required.

LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
