Job Description

The Opportunity

In December, Steve Marshall Group acquired Lions Gate Dodge with a clear vision: rebuild, revitalize, and create one of the strongest Chrysler dealerships in British Columbia.

This is not a maintenance role. This is an opportunity to lead a true dealership turnaround.

We are seeking a proven automotive leader to join us as General Manager and play a key role in the next phase of our transformation journey. The foundation has been laid, momentum is building, and we are looking for a leader who thrives on accountability, embraces change, develops high-performing teams, and knows how to drive results in a dynamic environment.

If you are energized by the challenge of building culture, improving performance, and creating long-term success where others see obstacles, this is a rare opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Your Impact:

As General Manager, you will be accountable for the overall performance, profitability, and reputation of the dealership. Reporting directly to the CEO and COO, you will provide strategic direction across all departments while fostering a culture of collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

Leadership & Business Growth
  • Lead the dealership's ongoing transformation and growth strategy.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold leaders accountable for results.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop department managers to build a strong leadership team.
  • Foster a culture built on integrity, teamwork, ownership, and customer service excellence.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational performance, market share, and profitability.
Financial & Operational Excellence
  • Manage dealership profitability and overall financial performance.
  • Analyze key performance indicators and implement action plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure effective inventory management across new and used vehicle operations.
  • Maintain compliance with OEM programs, performance standards, and incentive requirements.
Sales & Customer Experience
  • Drive performance across New Vehicle, Used Vehicle, and Finance operations.
  • Champion a customer-first culture that generates loyalty, retention, and referrals.
  • Monitor and improve dealership processes to enhance efficiency and the customer journey.
  • Ensure sales practices align with dealership values and regulatory requirements.
Fixed Operations Leadership
  • Partner closely with Service and Parts leadership to maximize absorption, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Support strategies that increase customer retention and service growth.
  • Ensure exceptional service experiences and strong customer satisfaction results.
  • Promote operational excellence throughout all fixed operations departments.
People & Culture
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top automotive talent.
  • Create an environment where employees feel engaged, supported, and accountable.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and succession planning discussions.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, recognition, and professional growth.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable provincial regulations, VSA requirements, OEM standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ethical business practices.
  • Protect dealership assets, reputation, and customer trust through proactive risk management.
What You Bring
  • Proven success as a General Manager, General Sales Manager, Fixed Operations Director, or other senior dealership leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through growth, change, or business transformation.
  • Strong understanding of both variable and fixed operations.
  • Advanced financial acumen with experience managing dealership profitability and P&L performance.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Experience with dealership management systems such as PBS or similar platforms.

The turnaround of Lions Gate Dodge is well underway, but the most exciting chapter is still ahead.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a dealership with significant potential, backed by the resources, support, and long-term commitment of Steve Marshall Group. We are looking for a leader who is ready to roll up their sleeves, inspire a team, earn the trust of customers, and help build a dealership that sets a new standard for performance and customer experience.

If you're ready to leave your mark on a remarkable transformation story, we want to hear from you.
