We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Parts Manager to lead our Parts Department and contribute to the overall success of our dealership operations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a customer-focused mindset, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of automotive parts operations. This role plays a key part in supporting the Service and Sales departments while driving departmental efficiency, profitability, and exceptional customer service.
Role Summary:
The Parts Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the dealership’s Parts Department. This role includes overseeing staff, maintaining inventory accuracy, developing vendor relationships, and driving profitability while ensuring outstanding service to both internal and external customers. The Parts Manager works closely with Service and Sales teams to support business goals and maximize overall dealership performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise Parts Department staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stocking, cycle counts, and returns, to maintain optimal levels.
- Ensure accuracy and efficiency in parts identification, pricing, invoicing, and warranty/core return processing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and wholesale customers.
- Monitor and analyze department performance, including sales, gross profit, and expenses, and implement strategies to achieve targets.
- Collaborate with Service and Sales teams to ensure timely delivery of parts for repair orders, vehicle sales, and accessories.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve escalated issues in a professional and customer-focused manner.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, dealership policies, and safety regulations.
- Manage parts merchandising, displays, and promotions to drive retail sales.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient Parts Department environment.
- Prepare and present regular performance and inventory reports to management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Automotive, Business, or a related field is an asset.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a dealership parts role, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and manufacturer programs.
- Experience with dealership management systems (DMS) and electronic parts catalogues.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
