Job Description
DSRT SURF isn’t a traditional workplace, and we’re not looking for a traditional Facilities Supervisor.
We’re building a fast growing hospitality and lifestyle brand where surf culture, guest experience, and operations all come together in a unique environment. We need someone who is hands on, dependable, solutions focused, and comfortable working in a fast paced operational setting.
The Facilities Supervisor supports the Director of Facilities in maintaining daily site operations across mechanical systems, aquatics, grounds, and infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for team coordination, operational execution, troubleshooting, and maintaining high standards across the property.
This is not a desk job. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable leading a team while also jumping in and getting hands on when needed.
This is a fully on site role in Palm Desert, California.
What You’ll Do
You’ll help oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and functionality of the DSRT SURF property and facilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the Director of Facilities with daily maintenance and operational oversight across the property
- Assist with plumbing, electrical, mechanical, aquatics, and general maintenance repairs
- Help troubleshoot equipment and facility issues including pumps, filters, lagoon systems, irrigation, and related infrastructure
- Support preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency
- Lead and coordinate maintenance technicians during daily operations
- Help maintain high cleanliness, safety, and operational standards across guest facing and back of house areas
- Assist with lagoon and pool operations including inspections, water quality monitoring, chemical balancing, and identifying maintenance concerns
- Support inventory management for maintenance supplies, tools, and operational materials
- Help identify operational improvements and efficiencies across facilities and maintenance operations
- Maintain organized maintenance logs, records, and documentation
- Support vendor coordination and outside contractors as needed
What You Bring
- General maintenance, facilities, construction, aquatics, or operations experience preferred
- Experience with plumbing, electrical basics, mechanical troubleshooting, or maintenance systems preferred
- Leadership or team coordination experience is a plus
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast paced operational environment
- Comfortable using tools, maintenance equipment, and basic computer systems
- Strong communication, organization, and follow through
- OSHA, maintenance, safety, pool, aquatics, or water quality certifications are a plus
- High school diploma or trade school experience preferred but not required

Compensation
DSRT SURF reasonably expects to pay within the posted salary range for this position. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, certifications, skills, and operational needs.

Current Work Environment
DSRT SURF is currently operating from an active construction and development site as we prepare for opening. Team members may occasionally work around construction activity, dust, noise, uneven surfaces, machinery, and changing operational environments.
Appropriate footwear and adherence to all company safety guidelines will be required while on site. Certain roles may require work boots, safety gear, or other protective equipment during this phase of development.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, and move throughout indoor and outdoor operational areas
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and temperature conditions
- Ability to safely operate around maintenance equipment, machinery, and active operational areas
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, climbing, and moving materials
- Ability to work in a fast paced hospitality and construction adjacent environment

Travel Requirements
Occasional local and regional travel may be required based on operational, training, vendor, or business needs.
