This role sits at the intersection of finance, clinical operations, and strategic portfolio management, supporting complex clinical trial environments through high-quality financial insight and analysis. You will be responsible for evaluating portfolio performance, ensuring budget integrity, and identifying risks and opportunities across multiple clinical solutions programs. The position plays a key role in connecting operational execution with financial outcomes, helping leadership make data-driven decisions. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams including project management, clinical operations, and finance to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting. The role requires strong analytical thinking, business partnering capabilities, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. This is a highly visible position where your work directly influences strategic planning and operational efficiency.
- Own and deliver portfolio-level financial analysis across Clinical Solutions, including budget tracking, forecasting accuracy, margin performance, and risk identification.
- Lead financial oversight across the full project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to internal controls and financial best practices.
- Perform detailed variance analysis (actuals vs. forecast vs. budget) to identify drivers such as scope changes, risks, and performance gaps.
- Support forecasting and planning processes by developing clear assumptions and improving financial models.
- Monitor budget consumption, earned value indicators, and change order impacts across clinical trial portfolios.
- Develop and maintain KPIs linking operational performance (e.g., enrollment pace, milestones, site activity) to financial outcomes.
- Build dashboards and executive-ready reports using Excel and Power BI to support portfolio governance and decision-making.
- Act as a finance business partner to clinical and operational leaders, supporting reviews, planning, and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare high-quality presentations translating financial and operational data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting standards, and portfolio-level controls.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial reporting and operational execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent international qualification).
- 5–8 years of experience in project finance, FP&A, or operational finance, preferably within a CRO or clinical research environment.
- Strong experience analyzing clinical trial portfolios and complex project financial structures.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and large dataset management.
- Working knowledge of Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial financial drivers, project lifecycles, and budget/contract structures.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to connect operational activity to financial outcomes.
