The Cloud Database Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the infrastructure required to support a modern cloud-native database platform. The role focuses on building reliable distributed systems, improving scalability, and enabling seamless cloud operations.
- Design and develop a cutting-edge cloud-native database platform built on top of public cloud infrastructure.
- Build and maintain infrastructure components that enable a scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant database environment.
- Develop and improve Kubernetes-based infrastructure solutions, including internal operators for efficient cloud resource management.
- Enhance metrics pipelines and create systems that generate better insights, statistics, and recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with database engineers and data platform teams to support infrastructure requirements and improve internal systems.
- Architect and implement distributed infrastructure solutions focused on performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Participate in production support activities, including debugging, troubleshooting, and improving systems through operational learnings.
- Contribute to continuous improvements across cloud infrastructure, deployment processes, and engineering practices.
The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and scalable software development. They should be comfortable solving complex engineering problems and collaborating across technical teams.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
- Strong programming experience with languages such as Go, C++, or Java.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade infrastructure systems.
- Experience working with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and infrastructure-as-a-service solutions.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and large-scale data infrastructure.
- Experience with data storage, ingestion, and transformation technologies such as Spark, Kafka, or similar tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues, participate in on-call rotations, and solve complex technical challenges.
- Passion for solving large-scale data problems and improving system performance.
- Experience with database internals, performance tuning, or systems-level optimization is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within and across engineering teams.
- Competitive salary range:
- United States: $133,450 - $197,200 USD annually.
- Premium markets, including areas such as the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City Metro Area: $157,000 - $232,000 USD annually.
