Job Description

Making Opportunity Count is seeking a full time (30 hour per week) CFCE Program Coordinator in our Gardner, MA location. Full time employees are eligible for vacation, sick, holiday pay, medical, dental, and vision benefits on day one!

This position is available starting on September 8th, 2026.

Position Overview:

The Program Coordinator oversees the CFCE program in collaboration with the CFCE Director. They also coordinate CFCE activities, community outreach and family support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote family education, engagement, and literacy
  • Plan and execute CFCE community playgroup, parent activities and community events.
  • Conduct Early Literacy workshop for families using Read and Rise model
  • Provide resource and referral support to families
  • Build and maintain open, friendly, and informative relationship with families, providers, and other community partners.
  • Partner with other community members to offer families a variety of opportunities to participate in developmental appropriate, literacy activities to promote school readiness.
  • Implement required program assessments (ASQ screenings) and play group evaluations
  • Plan and implement Early Ed Advisory Council meeting quarterly; prepare agenda, type minutes, recruit members from your community
  • Increase knowledge of and accessibility to high quality early education and care programs and services for families with children prenatal through school-age.
  • Provide support and information to families with children transitioning between early education and care settings, home, and school.
  • Create monthly calendars and newsletters to disseminate in the community
  • Work cooperatively with other MOC CFCE program coordinators.
  • Conduct community outreach by way of distributing information, newsletters, and flyers to inform the community about CFCE and to recruit new advisory council members.
  • Assume the responsibility to work independently and meet program timelines.
  • Assist CFCE with purchase of program supplies
  • Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • AA in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or a high school diploma plus 5 years of experience with demonstrated knowledge in human service or early childhood education or family literacy; or a minimum of high school diploma and 5 years experience with demonstrated knowledge in human service or early childhood education or family literacy.
  • Strong knowledge of and a commitment to low-income population and issues affecting these families
  • Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, use a keyboard, use a telephone, and climb stairs
  • The employee must have the ability to commute frequently to home visits, offices, and other locations as needed.

    Compensation:

    A salary within the range of $20.43 to $27.64 per hour will be provided to the successful candidate having met the minimum requirements for the position consistent with the MOC compensation philosophy.
