Job Description

Job Summary:

At the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University (CEPR) our mission is to transform education through the power of quality evidence. We believe that if we want to dramatically improve educational outcomes for all children, evidence must play a critical role.

The Mathematics Teaching and Teacher Learning (MTTL) Senior Project Coordinator will be joining the organization and supporting the MTTL team across the multiple grant-funded research projects and MQI Coaching fee-for-service contracts.

MQI Coaching provides math-specific professional development to teachers and coaches to help improve math instruction. This Senior Project Coordinator will perform a range of complex administrative and programmatic duties, as well as deliver coaching for the M-Powering Teacher Coaching project.


Job-Specific Responsibilities:

Marketing and Recruitment / Communications and Outreach

  • Update and maintain MQI Coaching records, website pages and marketing materials
  • Manage client tracking and recruitment databases (e.g., Mailchimp)
  • Implement marketing and outreach strategy in collaboration with MQI Coaching project manager and CEPR communications manager
  • Execute all email and social media campaigns

Event Coordination and Management

  • Plan and coordinate the logistics for events related to coach trainings across fee-for-service and grant-funded projects. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Setting up participant registration and facilitating payments in accordance with HGSE guidance
    • Preparing materials for facilitators and participants for virtual & in-person events
    • As needed, provide virtual or onsite support

Other general project support, as assigned

  • Including, but not limited to:

    • Copyedit, format, and polish public-facing products
    • Process expenses for teams corporate credit cards
    • Process paperwork for new part-time hires, and process extensions and updates for existing part-time coaches
    • Support the MQI Coaching Project Manager to track district contracts & issue invoices

M-Powering Teachers (MPT) Coaching

  • Virtually coach ~10-12 mathematics teachers
  • Support MPT Coaching Project Manager with coach training and oversight administration, in particular during MPT Coaching kickoff each fall and wrap-up each spring

This position is grant funded for one year from date of hire with a possibility of extension based on funding and the Center's needs.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of experience working in a research-practice partnership, and/or coaching mathematics teachers or teaching mathematics.
  • Candidates wishing to be considered must submit a resume and cover letter. All candidates invited to the in-person/hybrid interview may be asked to complete a task.
  • Expected to travel up to 10% of time. Also, must be able to work flexible schedule to support with trainings before or after regular work hours.


Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strongest candidates will have experience with M-Powering Teachers Coaching and/or MQI Coaching
  • Strongest candidates will have experience in marketing and coordinating programs
  • Experience with Quickbase, Panopto, Qualtrics, Canvas, video editing software, Zoom, Mailchimp, Concur, and project management platforms (e.g. Asana) are pluses.
  • Ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with (or in) education or the public sector, particularly in math education, preferred
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Information

  • Appointment End Date: 1 year from date of hire
  • Standard Hours/Schedule: 28 hours per week
  • Compensation Range/Rate (including Shift Differential if applicable): $67,163 - $70,000 commensurate with experience

Work Format Details

This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that the duties and responsibilities can effectively be performed fully remotely at a non-Harvard location. Employees in fully remote positions must work all scheduled hours in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the Universitys Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. At the discretion of the department, fully remote employees may occasionally be required on site at a Harvard location. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
