Job Description

Director of Pricing & Packaging

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Pricing & Packaging based in the United States.

This is a high-impact strategic leadership role responsible for defining how products are priced, packaged, and monetized across multiple markets and product lines.
You will establish a multi-year pricing vision designed to improve average selling price, market penetration, profitability, conversion, and retention.
Working closely with executive leadership, you will translate complex customer, market, and financial insights into clear commercial decisions.
The role combines quantitative analysis, customer research, commercial strategy, and hands-on execution across Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Finance.
You will build scalable pricing frameworks, discounting principles, approval processes, and commercial tools that enable teams to make faster, more consistent decisions.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced pricing leader who enjoys influencing senior stakeholders while remaining deeply involved in execution.
The position is fully remote and offers the opportunity to shape monetization strategy within a rapidly growing technology environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and continuously evolve pricing and packaging strategies across products, verticals, and customer segments, with a focus on maximizing average selling price, market penetration, conversion, profitability, and retention.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to executive leadership on monetization strategy, building compelling business cases and aligning Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance around pricing decisions.
  • Develop packaging and bundling strategies grounded in customer value, market dynamics, competitive positioning, and a clear rationale for how products should be combined and sold.
  • Establish the organization's pricing and discounting philosophy, including clear guardrails governing when, how, and why discounts are offered.
  • Partner with Sales and Deal Desk leadership to identify pricing opportunities that improve deal velocity, expand market penetration, and increase profitability.
  • Create scalable pricing models, templates, rate cards, approval workflows, and decision frameworks that make commercial decisions rigorous, repeatable, and efficient.
  • Establish a responsive process for handling ad-hoc and non-standard pricing requests so sales teams can move quickly without compromising pricing discipline.
  • Partner with Sales Operations to develop strong pricing tracking, reporting, and analytics capabilities.
  • Build and support pricing and commercial enablement programs in collaboration with Sales and Customer Success enablement teams.
  • Conduct qualitative customer interviews, customer value research, market analysis, and quantitative modeling to identify opportunities for pricing optimization.
  • Manage multiple strategic and operational initiatives simultaneously, moving effectively between long-term pricing strategy and hands-on execution.
  • Continuously review pricing performance and update strategies and rate cards to support evolving business objectives and customer needs.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including at least 4 years owning pricing strategy in-house or working as a pricing consultant at a highly regarded pricing consultancy.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing multiple pricing models, including SaaS, credit/token-based, and usage-based models.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional pricing transformations and build organizational alignment around significant pricing changes.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills, particularly within distributed and highly collaborative environments.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities with Sales, Finance, Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and executive stakeholders.
  • Advanced qualitative and quantitative research capabilities, including customer interviews, customer value analysis, financial modeling, and data-driven pricing analysis.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to translate complex information into clear recommendations and actionable decisions.
  • Excellent project and priority-management skills, with the ability to move seamlessly between strategic planning and detailed execution.
  • Significant experience in B2B SaaS and/or data subscription business models is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated curiosity about emerging technologies and practical experience using AI tools to improve productivity, quality, and decision-making is a plus.
  • Comfort incorporating generative AI into day-to-day workflows and exploring new technology-enabled approaches to pricing strategy and execution.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary of $220,000–$260,000 USD annually.
  • Potential sales-based commission opportunities for eligible roles.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Equity awards for eligible roles.
  • Fully remote work environment.
  • Opportunity to take a central role in shaping pricing and monetization strategy within a rapidly growing technology company.
  • Exposure to senior executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals across Product, Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Success.
  • Career growth and professional development opportunities within an innovative, high-growth environment.
