About the Role:
The Mechanical Foreman plays a critical leadership role in overseeing mechanical construction and maintenance projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This position requires managing a team of skilled tradespeople, coordinating daily work activities, and ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards. The Mechanical Foreman acts as the primary point of contact between field personnel and project management, facilitating clear communication and efficient workflow. They are responsible for interpreting technical drawings and specifications to guide the team in executing complex mechanical installations and repairs. Ultimately, the Mechanical Foreman ensures that all mechanical operations contribute to the successful delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical construction or maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certification in mechanical technology or related field.
- OSHA 30-hour safety certification or equivalent.
- Experience with project management software and digital reporting tools.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams.
- Familiarity with welding, piping, and HVAC systems.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of mechanical trades workers on construction and maintenance sites.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute mechanical work effectively.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Manage daily schedules, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet project deadlines.
- Conduct regular inspections of tools, equipment, and work areas to maintain safety and operational efficiency.
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members to promote skill development.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other foremen to resolve issues and optimize workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and equipment usage for reporting purposes.
