Job SummaryThe Intermediate Accountant supports the timely and accurate completion of financial close, reporting, and reconciliations in line with IFRS and Group requirements. The role is responsible for key accounting areas, including intercompany processes, balance sheet integrity, and tax support, while ensuring compliance with internal controls and audit standards.This position contributes to the effective day-to-day operations of the accounting function and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Job Responsibilities
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions in compliance with IFRS.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
- Manage the end-to-end intercompany process, including transaction processing, recharges, settlements, confirmations, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Group policies.
- Prepare working files for monthly sales tax reporting and partner with external tax consultants to ensure accurate and complete sales & use tax filings.
- Coordinate and support state and local sales tax audits, ensuring accurate documentation, timely responses, and effective resolution of audit matters.
- Review and analyze open purchase order reports to ensure appropriate accruals and timely closure.
- Support property tax payments, audits, and assessments, including preparing documentation, liaising with tax authorities, and ensuring timely and accurate resolution of related matters.
- Support transfer pricing documentation and compliance requirements.
- Prepare and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Provide support to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, including invoice processing and payment activities, as required.
- Prepare and respond to government surveys and statutory reporting requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-documented responses to audit requests.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timely and accurate financial close and Group reporting
- Strong balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
- Compliance with tax filings and audit requirements
- Undergraduate degree in accounting is required
- Professional designation (CPA) or on path to obtaining CPA designation
- Prior Experience as an Intermediate Accountant with 3-4 years of experience mainly focused on general accounting in a Consumer Products Company. Fashion Industry Background helpful but not required
- Experience should be with an organization of substantial size $100M + annual revenue and more than 100 retail stores, preferred
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical abilities: ability to summarize data and analyze results
- Team player with proven organizational skills; ability to handle several projects concurrently
- SAP experience is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
