Full Stack Software Engineer (Tech Lead)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer (Tech Lead) based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the design and development of a next-generation logistics platform supporting critical government and defense operations.
You will combine hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, shaping architecture across frontend, backend, edge, and cloud environments.
The position focuses on building scalable systems, improving engineering practices, and delivering secure, high-performance applications.
You will guide a talented engineering team while collaborating with product, design, DevSecOps, and field teams.
From distributed data pipelines to intuitive user experiences, you will influence the full technology lifecycle.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced full stack engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and driving innovation in mission-focused environments.

Accountabilities:

As a Full Stack Software Engineer (Tech Lead), you will own technical direction, system architecture, and engineering execution for a scalable platform. You will lead development efforts across frontend and backend systems while mentoring engineers and ensuring high-quality, secure software delivery.

  • Own the end-to-end architecture for scalable and resilient data ingestion systems spanning edge and cloud environments.
  • Lead and mentor frontend and backend engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, documentation, and engineering best practices.
  • Drive full-stack architecture decisions across distributed data flows, messaging systems, APIs, data models, and user interface structures.
  • Lead AI-enabled development practices by establishing validation processes, testing frameworks, guardrails, and support systems for reliable AI-assisted engineering.
  • Translate product and design requirements into clear engineering tasks and prioritize effective execution across the team.
  • Build responsive frontend experiences using React, TypeScript, modern component libraries, HTML, and CSS.
  • Develop secure backend services using C#/.NET, REST APIs, Entity Framework, and optimized relational database solutions.
  • Design and improve systems using technologies such as Redis, RabbitMQ, and custom distributed services.
  • Collaborate with product, design, DevSecOps, and field teams to deliver secure and impactful features.
  • Drive rapid prototyping while maintaining production-quality standards through automated testing and quality controls.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, improve system performance, and support deployment requirements for secure environments.
  • Promote engineering excellence through automated testing, CI/CD practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced full stack engineer with strong architectural expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for building scalable, secure software systems. You should be comfortable making technical decisions across the entire application stack while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, including experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
  • Proven experience designing architectures for distributed and scalable systems, ideally involving data ingestion or streaming pipelines.
  • Strong experience with distributed system components such as Redis, RabbitMQ, message brokers, and custom service development.
  • Experience leading AI-enabled engineering teams and implementing processes to ensure safe and reliable AI-assisted development.
  • Advanced full stack development experience across frontend and backend technologies.
  • Strong frontend expertise with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, component design, hooks, and modern frontend patterns.
  • Strong backend expertise with C#/.NET, Entity Framework, SQL, relational databases, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Knowledge of dependency injection, asynchronous programming, LINQ, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience implementing automated testing strategies using tools such as Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, and end-to-end testing frameworks.
  • Ability to transform product requirements into scalable technical solutions and actionable engineering plans.
  • Familiarity with secure software development practices and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or GitLab.
  • Experience working in Agile or Lean environments with fast iteration cycles.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; active Secret or TS clearance preferred.
  • Preferred experience with secure government environments, DoD applications, IL5+, or FedRAMP requirements.
  • Experience with logistics, supply chain, asset tracking, or mission-critical applications is a plus.
  • Certifications such as Security+ or AWS Developer/Architect are advantageous.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range of approximately $130,000–$200,000 depending on skills, experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
  • Fully remote work opportunity.
  • Opportunity to work on innovative technology solutions with real-world impact.
  • Leadership role with significant ownership over architecture and engineering decisions.
  • Collaborative environment focused on innovation, rapid development, and continuous improvement.
  • Opportunities to mentor engineers and influence engineering culture.
  • Exposure to advanced technologies across cloud, distributed systems, AI-enabled development, and secure software delivery.
  • Career growth opportunities within a mission-driven technology organization.
