Job Description

Fund Accounting Senior Associate (Crypto)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Fund Accounting Senior Associate (Crypto) in Canada.

Join a fast-growing fund administration environment supporting thousands of venture and crypto-focused investment funds operating at scale. In this role, you will contribute to the financial integrity and reporting accuracy of complex, high-volume investment structures, ensuring valuation, accounting, and reporting processes are executed with precision. You will work in a highly detail-oriented and collaborative setting where traditional fund accounting meets digital asset innovation. The position involves handling both automated and exception-based workflows, giving you exposure to complex financial instruments and emerging crypto markets. You will interact with internal operations teams, engineers, fund managers, and investors, playing a key role in maintaining trust and transparency across the investment lifecycle. This is a fully remote opportunity suited for a finance professional who thrives in structured, high-volume, and evolving environments. Your work will directly support scalable fund operations across a rapidly expanding global platform.

Accountabilities:
  • Evaluate portfolio company and fund-level events to determine appropriate valuation and accounting treatments for investments, including crypto assets.
  • Prepare and support the production of audited and unaudited financial statements, coordinating closely with external audit partners.
  • Ensure all fund accounting activities comply with GAAP standards and evaluate complex or non-standard financial scenarios.
  • Maintain and reconcile investment tracking systems to ensure accuracy across large-scale, multi-fund portfolios.
  • Review and process management and administrative fee calculations with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage exception-based accounting workflows that are not fully automated within existing systems.
  • Interface with internal engineering and product teams to support automation initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
  • Handle ad-hoc reporting requests, special accounting projects, and investigative financial analyses.
  • Communicate directly with fund managers and investors regarding reporting, valuations, and financial updates.
Requirements
  • 3–4+ years of experience in fund accounting, public accounting, or financial operations, ideally within fund administration environments.
  • CPA designation strongly preferred, supported by a strong academic background in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience working with crypto-focused funds and digital asset accounting is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with reconciling digital asset transactions across exchanges, custodians, wallets, and DeFi platforms is a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles, particularly in investment fund contexts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve complex financial discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational and process-oriented mindset, capable of managing large volumes of investment data.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with investors and portfolio companies.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities and continuous process improvement.
  • Strong willingness to work hands-on with data, systems, and operational workflows.
Benefits
  • Fully remote work environment (Canada or US-based eligibility).
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and expertise.
  • Exposure to large-scale fund administration across venture capital and crypto investment structures.
  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of traditional fund accounting and emerging digital asset markets.
  • Collaborative, engineering-driven environment focused on automation and continuous improvement.
  • Professional growth opportunities in fund operations, crypto finance, and advanced accounting systems.
  • Inclusive and diverse workplace committed to equal opportunity employment.
