This role supports reporting, analytics, and data platform initiatives by translating product direction and business needs into clear, implementation-ready requirements.
You will work at the intersection of product management, engineering, data, QA, design, and business stakeholders to turn complex needs into actionable delivery plans.
The position has a strong focus on data-centric products, reporting accuracy, data definitions, transformation logic, and user-facing reporting experiences.
You will help teams reduce ambiguity, minimize rework, improve delivery speed, and maintain a healthy, well-organized product backlog.
The role combines business analysis, technical research, stakeholder management, and hands-on data validation using SQL and related tools.
You will also contribute to scalable, secure, compliant solutions within a healthcare technology environment.

- Translate product roadmaps, epics, stakeholder requests, and discovery findings into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and implementation-ready requirements.
- Partner with product leadership to clarify scope, identify assumptions and dependencies, resolve open questions, and ensure delivery teams have the information required to begin development.
- Maintain a well-groomed backlog by preparing stories for sprint planning, tracking dependencies, documenting decisions, and supporting refinement sessions.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, process reviews, gap analyses, and discovery activities to understand business needs and translate them into actionable product requirements.
- Define current-state and future-state workflows, report behavior, edge cases, validation rules, error handling, and expected outcomes.
- Specify reporting and analytics requirements, including field definitions, data grain, source logic, filtering, grouping, calculations, summaries, sorting, exports, drill-through behavior, and user-interface requirements.
- Maintain mapping tables, data dictionaries, glossaries, lineage documentation, transformation notes, and other data specifications across applicable data layers.
- Work closely with Data Engineering to validate source-to-target mappings, assess data feasibility, clarify transformation logic, and identify data quality or lineage risks.
- Use SQL and data-querying tools to inspect data, validate assumptions, investigate requirements, and support QA and user acceptance testing.
- Define test scenarios, expected results, validation rules, and acceptance criteria while partnering with QA to ensure reporting and data solutions meet requirements.
- Support intake and triage of client requests, reporting needs, enhancements, defects, documentation issues, and discovery items, ensuring ownership and next steps remain clear.
- Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Data Engineering, QA, Design, Support, Implementation, Commercial, and business teams to remove ambiguity and maintain delivery momentum.
- Track risks, blockers, dependencies, decisions, and requirement changes, escalating unresolved issues with clear context and recommendations.
- Support release readiness by ensuring documentation, validation results, stakeholder communications, and known limitations are appropriately captured.
- Promote scalable, secure, accurate, and compliant data and product solutions while ensuring alignment with healthcare and regulatory expectations.
- Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate research, documentation, requirements development, summarization, and analysis while applying appropriate human review and validation.
- 5+ years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, technical business analysis, data analysis, reporting, or a related product delivery role.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into detailed technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflow documentation, and implementation-ready specifications.
- Strong understanding of reporting and analytics concepts, including data grain, field definitions, filtering, grouping, calculations, validation rules, and expected outputs.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL fundamentals, including SELECT, WHERE, JOIN, GROUP BY, HAVING, and ORDER BY, with the ability to independently inspect data and validate requirements.
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts, including tables, keys, relationships, joins, and normalization fundamentals.
- Experience collaborating with data engineering, analytics, reporting, or data warehouse teams and familiarity with data warehouses, data marts, reporting pipelines, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Familiarity with lakehouse concepts, dimensional modeling, medallion architectures, and Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, story writing, acceptance criteria, and delivery tracking.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create precise documentation and explain complex technical or business concepts to varied audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management and organizational skills, including the ability to clarify ambiguous requests, manage competing priorities, and drive follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, requests, dependencies, and open questions while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, Visio, Figma, or similar product and documentation platforms.
- Familiarity with healthcare workflows, healthcare technology, EHR environments, or regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA and HITECH is preferred.
- Experience with platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, Looker, or embedded analytics solutions is a plus.
- Experience with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, X12, or similar technologies is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to adopt AI tools responsibly for research, documentation, analysis, and productivity while maintaining appropriate human oversight.
