The Senior Director - Data Platforms & Architecture will lead the strategic direction, delivery excellence, and growth of a modern data and analytics practice.
This role combines executive leadership, technical expertise, and client engagement to deliver impactful data transformation solutions.
You will guide teams of data professionals while partnering with clients and internal stakeholders to solve complex business challenges.
The position requires a strong understanding of cloud-based data platforms, architecture frameworks, and enterprise data strategies.

The Senior Director - Data Platforms & Architecture is responsible for leading a high-performing data practice, ensuring successful client outcomes, and driving technical excellence across projects. This role requires a balance of strategic vision, operational leadership, and hands-on engagement with teams and clients.
- Lead the financial performance of the practice area, including utilization, margin management, investments, and overall business growth.
- Provide executive oversight and sponsorship for key client engagements, ensuring successful delivery and strong customer relationships.
- Coach delivery teams on complex projects, provide feedback to managers, and promote continuous improvement.
- Partner with leadership teams to manage workforce capacity, skills development, and team capability growth.
- Establish clear learning paths, resources, and guidelines to strengthen technical expertise within the practice.
- Review and approve delivery readiness assessments and solution reviews in collaboration with principal architects.
- Optimize project staffing strategies to maximize client satisfaction and delivery outcomes.
- Drive technical excellence by supporting architecture reviews, delivery standards, and best practices across projects.
- Resolve technical escalations quickly while capturing lessons learned to improve future delivery approaches.
- Create strategic client engagement opportunities through expert sessions, briefings, and thought leadership activities.
- Collaborate with solution architecture teams to develop delivery frameworks, technology strategies, and repeatable solution patterns.
- Define and manage practice technology strategies, client journeys, and delivery models for data solution areas.
- Champion client success initiatives and highlight business impact achieved through technology solutions.
- Support intellectual property development, technology roadmaps, and internal solution engineering initiatives.
- Lead quarterly technology briefings and share industry insights, project learnings, and delivery recommendations with teams.
The ideal candidate is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in consulting, data platforms, and enterprise architecture. They should have proven experience leading teams, managing client relationships, and delivering complex data transformation initiatives.
- 8-10+ years of relevant technology leadership experience, preferably within a consulting or professional services environment.
- Deep expertise in modern data engineering, preferably using Azure-based data platforms, including data warehousing, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures.
- Broad knowledge across data and analytics disciplines, including:
- Data governance and architecture.
- Data integration and classification.
- Data analysis and visualization.
- Data quality management.
- Data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Master data management (MDM) and enterprise data standards.
- Strong understanding of industry best practices and enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical teams, executives, and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience managing data professionals, defining team processes, setting expectations, and developing talent.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and maintain project delivery timelines.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment and collaborate with distributed teams.
- Competitive base salary range of $183,400 - $275,100 USD.
