Sr. Manager of Business Development & Strategic Growth

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven leader to shape and accelerate strategic growth initiatives across North America. In this role, you will build and lead a high-performing business development organization focused on identifying untapped markets, expanding customer relationships, and winning new business opportunities. Working cross-functionally with sales, engineering, marketing, product management, and operations, you will develop data-driven growth strategies that deliver measurable commercial impact. The position offers significant ownership, strategic influence, and the chance to establish scalable processes while leveraging modern analytics, CRM platforms, and AI-powered insights. Accountabilities:
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of Business Development Managers and Market Development Analysts focused on generating new business opportunities across North America.
  • Design and execute strategic growth initiatives targeting national accounts, OEMs, high-potential market segments, strategic product categories, and untapped customer opportunities.
  • Build scalable account targeting methodologies using CRM data, competitive intelligence, market analytics, AI-driven insights, and business intelligence tools.
  • Define and implement effective go-to-market strategies, including direct sales, distributor partnerships, and hybrid engagement models.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop compelling customer value propositions and support complex commercial opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline, ensure accurate forecasting and reporting, and foster a high-performance culture centered on accountability, innovation, and business growth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or commercial leadership within industrial manufacturing, fluid power, fluid conveyance, or related industries.
  • Proven success developing and executing strategic growth initiatives while winning complex commercial opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading high-performing business development or sales teams with a strong focus on new customer acquisition.
  • Strong understanding of OEM sales, distribution networks, national account management, and commercial strategy.
  • Experience leveraging CRM platforms, business intelligence tools, analytics, and AI technologies to improve sales effectiveness and identify market opportunities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Comfortable working in a remote environment with the ability to travel up to 50%.
