Job Description

Summary:

We are seeking a Business Development Specialist – Drone Solutions to grow adoption of drone technology across Canada, with a specialization in agricultural applications.

This is a customer-facing business development role focused on identifying opportunities, building partnerships, and driving the adoption of drone solutions. While the position spans the broader drone technology landscape, the successful candidate will bring deep focus to the agricultural sector—working with farmers, growers, agricultural service providers, and industry partners to demonstrate where drones create measurable value.

The role combines relationship-building, product education, and hands-on sales follow-through. You'll help customers understand practical, real-world applications of drone technology on-farm and across adjacent agricultural operations, while contributing to overall market growth and business development strategy.

What You'll Do:

  • Represent the company at farms, grower meetings, trade shows, field days, and agricultural events to demonstrate drone technology and generate qualified sales leads.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with growers, agronomists, retailers, cooperatives, and agricultural service providers to identify customer needs, qualified opportunities, and support adoption of drone-based solutions.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend drone-based solutions that can support scouting, crop monitoring, spraying, mapping, labor efficiency, input optimization, and yield management.
  • Analyse industry trends and customer needs to identify new market opportunities and support strategic business growth.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, product demonstrations, and follow-up materials that help farmers evaluate the business case for adopting drone technology.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, product development, engineering, and operations teams to align customer requirements with product capabilities and commercial objectives.
  • Leverage CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) to manage lead activity, document customer engagements, track sales performance, and generate reliable pipeline forecasts.

What You'll Bring:

  • Postsecondary education in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Agricultural Sciences, Urban Planning, or a related discipline
  • Some understanding of farming and environmental science
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts simply
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment and travelling to farms, attending agricultural events, and conducting in-person product conversations with growers and partners
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) is an asset

What We Offer:

  • Paid vacation days;
  • 5 paid sick days;
  • 100% paid by employer comprehensive health benefits package including medical, dental, life & more (coverage varies);
  • RRSP program;
  • Up to an annual maximum of $2,000 per year professional development fund for designations and accreditations;
  • 100% reimbursed for job-related training;
  • Ongoing training available;
  • Flexible hours of work based on position;
  • Employee Referral Program;
  • Employee Award Program;
  • Plenty of on-site and street parking & a bus stop right in front of the office (bus 405, 410, 416);
  • Employee events & initiatives: company BBQs, field trips, annual summer event, free snacks events, lunchroom has free flow of coffees & teas.

While our team is locally based, fully remote work arrangements are available for candidates who reside outside of British Columbia.

Please note that benefits may vary by location and employment status.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, you must be a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident, or a foreign national holding a valid Work Permit or specific authorization like a study permit with off-campus work permission, a temporary resident permit, or be part of special programs.
