Director Business Development & Sales - VR & Health Innovation

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director Business Development & Sales - VR & Health Innovation based in Canada.

This is a senior commercial leadership role focused on driving growth across immersive technology, virtual reality, AI, and digital health innovation. You will be responsible for originating and closing high-value partnerships across healthcare systems, research institutions, universities, and innovation ecosystems in Canada, the US, and Europe. The role blends strategic business development with executive-level relationship building, requiring the ability to engage confidently with senior decision-makers in complex institutional environments. You will work closely with executive leadership to shape market positioning, expand strategic initiatives, and define go-to-market opportunities in emerging XR-enabled health solutions. Operating in a fast-moving innovation context, you will translate early-stage opportunities into structured commercial engagements with measurable impact. This role is ideal for a senior business development professional who thrives in building markets, not just executing within them.

Accountabilities:
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across XR, immersive learning, digital health, and applied innovation sectors.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline across healthcare organizations, research institutions, universities, innovation hubs, and accelerator ecosystems.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with healthcare leaders, research sponsors, and institutional stakeholders.
  • Lead full-cycle deal execution including discovery, solution shaping, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Collaborate with internal innovation, design, and technology teams to structure tailored solutions and commercial models.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, research forums, and industry events to strengthen visibility and ecosystem presence.
  • Gather market intelligence and translate insights into strategic recommendations for growth and positioning.
Requirements:
  • 7–12 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or consultative sales within technology, digital health, XR, AI, or innovation-driven sectors.
  • Proven track record of originating and closing complex, high-value commercial engagements.
  • Strong experience engaging with senior executives and institutional decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to build pipelines and operate in emerging or evolving markets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial judgment with the ability to translate complex solutions into strategic business value.
  • Experience in XR, immersive learning, AI, or health innovation is highly valued.
  • High level of ownership, autonomy, and accountability in driving revenue outcomes.
