As a Business Development Officer, you will be responsible for creating and advancing new partnership opportunities while supporting broader financial and programmatic objectives. You will combine strategic prospecting, relationship management, and partnership development skills to identify opportunities, build engagement strategies, and support successful collaboration.
- Proactively identify, research, qualify, and close new corporate and foundation partnership opportunities.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospects while maintaining accurate forecasting and opportunity tracking.
- Evaluate inbound partnership inquiries to determine strategic alignment, feasibility, and potential impact.
- Develop customized proposals, presentations, and partnership materials tailored to prospective partners.
- Build relationships with senior-level corporate and foundation stakeholders.
- Negotiate, develop, and manage partnership agreements and contracts.
- Coordinate internal transitions to ensure successful handoff of secured partnerships to long-term relationship management teams.
- Collaborate with Programs, Finance, Legal, and other internal stakeholders to develop impactful and sustainable partnership solutions.
- Monitor trends in corporate responsibility, philanthropy, and emerging sectors to identify new opportunities.
- Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, and industry forums to generate leads and strengthen visibility.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in business development, fundraising, and partnership management, with the ability to create opportunities, influence stakeholders, and manage complex initiatives. You should be comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating across multiple teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 5–7 years of experience in business development, fundraising, partnership development, or related fields.
- Proven success building and managing corporate or foundation partnerships that generate revenue and strategic value.
- Experience engaging and influencing senior-level decision-makers.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to create compelling partnership narratives, presentations, and proposals.
- Strong analytical skills with experience managing pipelines, forecasts, and opportunity data.
- Experience using CRM or donor management systems such as Salesforce or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel data management and reporting.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with changing priorities.
- Competitive annual salary range of approximately $83,735 – $124,889.
