This is a senior finance leadership role responsible for ensuring the integrity, scalability, and efficiency of all accounting operations within a fast-growing, technology-driven organization. You will oversee end-to-end financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls while acting as a strategic partner to executive leadership. The role combines hands-on ownership of core accounting functions with a forward-looking mandate to build systems, processes, and teams that support rapid organizational growth. You will play a key role in financial planning, audit readiness, and operational excellence across the finance function. This is an opportunity to shape a modern accounting organization in a high-performance, mission-driven environment. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced settings, balancing strategic thinking with strong execution and attention to detail.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, revenue recognition, and fixed assets while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring high-quality, audit-ready financial reporting.
  • Partner with executive leadership to deliver insights on financial performance, risks, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance frameworks (IFRS/US GAAP).
  • Oversee external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting while ensuring full compliance with applicable standards.
  • Drive systems optimization and automation across the finance function, including ERP and financial reporting tools.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team with a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, People & Culture, and Operations on strategic business initiatives and investments.
  • Support M&A activities, due diligence, and integration efforts when required.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including senior leadership roles such as Controller or equivalent.
  • Strong expertise in IFRS or US GAAP and deep understanding of financial reporting and compliance standards.
  • Proven experience managing audits, external auditors, and complex financial reporting cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and optimize accounting processes in high-growth environments.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing, developing, and motivating accounting teams.
  • Hands-on and strategic mindset, capable of operating effectively across both tactical execution and long-term planning.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate financial insights clearly and effectively.
  • CPA designation is an asset, as well as experience in SaaS, multi-entity environments, or M&A contexts.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation aligned with senior finance leadership roles.
  • Meaningful equity participation in a high-growth organization.
  • Fully paid health, dental, and vision coverage with no waiting period.
  • Health spending account to support additional wellness needs.
  • Monthly wellness, fitness, and mental health reimbursements.
  • Hybrid work model offering flexibility and in-office collaboration in Ottawa.
  • Strong culture of trust, transparency, and performance-based growth.
  • Opportunities for career advancement based on impact and contribution.
  • Inclusive, high-performance environment with a focus on collaboration and accountability.
