Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director, Deal Desk in Canada.
This is a high-impact leadership role sitting at the intersection of strategic finance, revenue operations, and commercial strategy. You will own the end-to-end deal structuring and approval framework, ensuring all commercial agreements are financially sound, scalable, and aligned with company objectives. Acting as the primary decision-maker for revenue adjustments and deal economics, you will partner closely with Go-To-Market, Finance, and senior leadership teams. The role requires strong analytical depth, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders. You will also shape deal philosophy, governance, and approval standards across standard and complex commercial arrangements. In addition, you will lead performance tracking, variance analysis, and financial forecasting for active deals while ensuring accuracy and transparency in reporting. This is a highly visible role with direct influence on revenue integrity and commercial execution across a fast-paced, global organization.
In this role, you will serve as the primary owner of deal desk strategy, execution, and governance across all commercial structures.
- Own and validate all revenue adjustments in weekly reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and traceability of underlying financial logic.
- Maintain continuous reconciliation processes and ensure deal-related data integrity throughout reporting cycles.
- Lead weekly cross-functional alignment sessions with Finance teams, delivering variance analysis and performance insights.
- Oversee end-to-end deal structuring, from standard agreements to complex, non-standard commercial arrangements.
- Define, maintain, and enforce deal approval frameworks, including eligibility thresholds and pricing governance.
- Lead financial modeling and diligence for non-standard deals, providing clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Monitor deal performance, cash flow impacts, and accruals, proactively flagging deviations and risks.
- Present monthly updates on active deal programs, including variance analysis against original assumptions.
- Lead accrual reviews and ensure defensible financial positions supported by robust documentation and analysis.
- Manage and mentor a Senior Analyst, ensuring high analytical rigor and strong execution standards across deliverables.
This role requires deep expertise in commercial finance, strong analytical capabilities, and proven leadership in complex deal environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in commercial finance, revenue operations, strategic finance, or deal desk functions.
- At least 5 years of direct ownership over deal structuring, pricing, or commercial agreement governance.
- Strong ability to build financial models, assess deal economics, and present clear recommendations to senior leadership.
- Deep understanding of revenue recognition principles, accrual accounting, and commercial finance operations.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments while maintaining sound judgment.
- Strong communication skills with experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders (CXO and senior leadership).
- Proven track record of owning end-to-end processes and driving accountability across cross-functional teams.
- Experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, or mobile ecosystem environments is a strong plus.
- Competitive OTE salary range in Canada: CAD 185,000 – 230,000 (base + bonus)
- Equity participation as part of the overall compensation package
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage (based on country of residence)
- Flexible remote work arrangement (Pacific Time Zone alignment required; San Francisco Bay Area preferred)
- Wellness and employee support programs, including stipends and additional perks depending on location
- Opportunities for quarterly in-person team gatherings and company-wide events
- Fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative work environment focused on growth and impact
- Benchmark-based compensation philosophy ensuring fairness and market alignment
