Position Summary
The Millwright / Stationary Equipment Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of stationary industrial equipment and mechanical systems within the facility. This role ensures all machinery operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, supporting production goals, and maintaining the overall reliability of equipment used in processing, composting, and material handling operations. The technician will work closely with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair stationary industrial equipment, including conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime
- Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective repair solutions in a timely manner
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Align, level, and calibrate machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Perform welding, fabrication, and basic machining as needed
- Inspect equipment regularly and identify potential issues before failures occur
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection reports
- Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to improve equipment performance and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience as a millwright, maintenance technician, or in a related mechanical role
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of industrial equipment and systems
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting mechanical failures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Basic welding and fabrication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments
- Experience working with composting, recycling, or material processing equipment
- Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
- Certification in welding, industrial maintenance, or related trade
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations

- Realizar mantenimiento preventivo rutinario para garantizar la confiabilidad del equipo y minimizar fallas no planificadas
- Diagnosticar problemas mecánicos e implementar soluciones de reparación de manera oportuna
- Leer e interpretar planos, diagramas y manuales técnicos
- Alinear, nivelar y calibrar maquinaria y equipos para asegurar un rendimiento óptimo
- Realizar soldadura, fabricación y mecanizado básico según sea necesario
- Inspeccionar regularmente los equipos e identificar problemas potenciales antes de que ocurran fallas
- Mantener registros precisos de mantenimiento, órdenes de trabajo e informes de inspección
