Manual Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to handle welding tools and perform precise welds.
Endurance: Ability to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, or climb for extended periods.

Balance and Coordination: Especially important when working at heights or on scaffolding.
Work Locations: Indoor fabrication shop and occasional outdoor work.
Weather Exposure: Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat, humidity, cold, rain, and wind.
A Fitter Welder operates primarily in a structural steel fabrication shop, with occasional outdoor work, which presents a variety of environmental and physical hazards. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Environmental Conditions:
• Exposure to high noise levels from cutting, grinding, and welding operations.
• Frequent presence of dust, fumes, and airborne particles, especially from welding and metal finishing.
• Variable temperatures due to weather, open bay doors, welding heat, and seasonal changes.
• Occasional work at elevated heights or in confined spaces during inspections of large assemblies.
Physical Hazards:
• Risk of cuts, burns, and abrasions from sharp edges, hot surfaces, and welding equipment.
• Potential for impact injuries from moving steel components, overhead cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery.
• Exposure to welding arcs and UV radiation, requiring proper eye and skin protection.

• Must obtain OSHA 10 card for jobsite work.
Compliance: Must follow OSHA safety standards and AISC Quality and Welding standards
Work Schedule: May include overtime, weekends, and night shifts depending on project deadlines.
