Responsibilities:
• Fabricate, assemble, and weld metal products, specified by work orders, diagrams, and templates using different welding applications.
• Operate fabrication shop machinery and equipment, read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements per the routing and material list.
• Understand and safely operate fabricating machines, including robotic welders, following instructions and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
• May work with the engineering department to troubleshoot part fit and assembly process by adjusting materials and print specifications in order to fabricate final product.
• Observe proper machine operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction based on company standards and procedures.
• Inspects first part for quality, accuracy, and functionality by checking product specifications based on following guidelines of shop floor order print/instructions.
Requirements:• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• A minimum of two (2) years of metal fabrication experience strongly preferred, which may be substituted for formal welding training
• Must be able to interpret drawings to cut, notch, fit, and weld materials to proper specifications
• Must have exposure to, or a strong desire to learn, robotic welding
• Must be able to work 10-hour shifts, 6:00am-4:30pm Monday - Thursday
• Must have the ability to work 40 hours a week and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record.
Physical Requirements:
• Moderate to heavy physical effort is required along with the ability safely life and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
• In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• The following should be expected to be encountered: long periods of standing, periodic exposure to seasonal heat and cold, working with oils and greases, noise, field work as needed, working outside, stooping, bending, squatting, or working in a prone position.
