Job Description
AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity driven professional to add to our “Excellence Team” based in DeRidder, LA. The Statistical Analyst Trainee will receive training required to prove proficient at issuing and distributing claim-related payments, posting refunds and recoveries to claim files, and updating claim status. The Trainee will learn to collect data to prepare various recurring claims management reports and to ensure compliance with state, federal and regulatory agency directives for various medical and financial data calls.
Upon an offer and acceptance of employment with AMERISAFE, you will be required to complete our pre-employment screening, which includes a criminal background check, a 10-panel drug test and, if applicable, a review of your motor vehicle report. A 10-panel drug test includes amphetamine/methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine metabolite (BZE), marijuana metabolite (THCA), methadone, methaqualone, codeine/morphine, phencyclidine, propoxyphene.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent formal education in Business or Accounting, with one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Intermediate to advanced use Windows application programs with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel; knowledge of data management software is advantageous
- Flexible, highly self-motivated, and dedicated to quality task completion
- Ability to write letters, summaries and reports using prescribed formats and basic rules of grammar
- Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to perform basic calculations and utilize resources to complete complicated mathematical equations, formulas, etc.
- Accurately interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or report form
- Apply consistent/sound principles of judgment in prioritizing work activities
Responsibilities:
- Prepare routine management reports in various formats
- Collect and maintain claims data for special projects and trend analysis
- Communicate complete and accurate data to management, other AMERISAFE departments, and external customers in a useful and actionable format
- Monitor regulatory bulletins and publications, identify new reporting requirements, and update report due date checklist
- Generate periodic reports to facilitate collection of administrative costs in support of the administrative fund, special fund, rate adjustment fund and subsequent injury funds subject to state-specific assessment calculations
- Maintain special status logs within ICAMS and distribute to claims management
- Prepare reinsurance reports and submit invoices for recovery
- Deliver excellent customer service to customers and associates
- Project a positive and professional image when interacting with all AMERISAFE personnel and customers
- Maintain current references and guides
- Complete all tasks in accordance with established Sarbanes Oxley Work Flows
- Provide assistance to team members as needed to ensure team goals and objectives are met
- Follow all rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines of AMERISAFE and of the Claims Department
- Attend training classes, workshops, and seminars as directed
- Maintain confidentiality at all times in accordance with company policy
- Attendance is an essential function of the job
- Performance of additional duties may be required as directed by the supervisor
