- Application Deadline: March 12, 2026 -
We believe that everyone has the right to access support that will foster growth and allow them to live with dignity, and independence in our community
Peer Support is a powerful opportunity for a person living with a mental health need and/or addiction challenge to connect with someone who has experienced a similar challenge and has gone through their own wellness and recovery journey. The expertise and lived experience of the Peer Support Worker can give the peer a unique perspective on supporting a personal sense of wellness and recovery. The commonality of "I get it. I have been there too", can build an authentic, therapeutic rapport of empowerment and hope.
As an Addiction and Mental Health Worker, Peer Support – Addiction Transitional Case Manager, you will have a unique opportunity to use your lived experience of mental health and/or addiction challenges to support individuals in their recovery and wellness goals. Working from a peer support and psychosocial rehabilitation framework, you will blend lived experience with recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practices to empower individuals in achieving wellness and recovery focused outcomes.
Working collaboratively with the staff at the Inn Out of The Cold, or as it is more commonly known as The Inn, you will provide direct support, group facilitation, encouragement and system navigation to unhoused individuals who face mental health and/or substance use challenges. Through the intentional sharing of your own wellness and recovery journey, you will model hope, resilience, and perseverance during challenging times. All services will be delivered in a positive and welcoming environment from a lens of cultural humility with a guest-centered, trauma-informed and anti-oppressive approach.
