About This Position

JOB SUMMARY
-
The Clerk-Welcome & Information Center greets and assists customer visiting the Medical Center. This position facilitates guest and customer concerns by keeping patients and families informed and being the initial Team Member customers will encounter while visiting the Medical Center.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-
Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
-
Greets customers upon entry into the Medical Center and provides information as requested while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Monitors and screens visitors and team members upon entry to the facility according to specific guidelines.

Courteously answers phone calls, routes calls and provides information to internal and external customers, team members and medical staff.

Operates main phone system by answering incoming, interoffice, patient information and emergency calls.

Maintains file of Medical Center personnel and departments by name and extension numbers
-
Monitors security, plant operations, nursing and valet radio when necessary.

Receives disaster information and notifies proper personnel and departments. Responsible for paging the all clear page when appropriate.

Responsible for paging all codes and ERT’s.

Sorts and opens mail for distribution, prepares outgoing mail for distribution, re-addresses undeliverable mail with incomplete or incorrect address, maintains log for recording certified mail and must be aware of suspicious letters or packages being delivered to the mailroom and know the proper procedure for handling and isolating these items.

Maintains approved vendor/visitor register.

Transports or escorts patients, per protocol, and gives handoff to receiving team member.

EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirement:
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
Must enjoy working with people and project a positive image for the Medical Center.

Works indoors in an office/clinic setting

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Constantly required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer.

Constantly required to communicate telephonically and face to face with colleagues and customers.

Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone.

Constantly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
