Position Information
The Director of Contracts leads and manages day-to-day functions of the UCR School of Medicine (SOM) Contracts Department. This Department primarily negotiates clinical professional services agreements, Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) academic affiliations, and payer agreements on behalf of the SOM, UCR Health, and the UCR Medical Group. The Director serves as a key UCR SOM representative with all internal and external parties in order to timely research and resolve contract-related operational issues and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable UCR SOM and/or UC Office of the President (UCOP) policies. The incumbent is responsible for sustaining a clear contracting workflow, updating Department procedures and standard contract templates to meet business needs, reviewing all essential contractual supporting documentation, and working closely with Campus Counsel in the review of all contracts. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and reviewing all contract files, including the appropriate supporting documentation submitted by the contract requesting department. This may include fair market valuations, conflict of interest/business associate/exclusions screenings, insurance certificates, corporation searches, business licenses, etc. Also, the incumbent will ensure accurate tracking of contract expirations dates, prepare regular contracts status reports for SOM department managers and leadership teams, and address compliance-related issues as needed. The incumbent must possess very strong working relationships and negotiation skills/techniques, to effectively build and sustain effective collaborative efforts with internal stakeholders and external affiliates.The full salary range for the Director of Contracts is $90,400 - $169,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
