About Company:

Serra Manufacturing Corporation has been a leading innovator in the manufacturing of precision stamped parts since its inception in 1959. Our facilities include over 20 hydraulic and mechanical presses ranging from 15 to 170 tons in capacity, as well as in-house double disc grinding, lapping and deburring operations. Moreover, to continue to provide our customers with more quality products, Serra Manufacturing now has 6 CNC machines to provide customers with machined parts to be keep up with the always changing manufacturing industry. Through the use of computers we are able to design and fabricate either single stampings or progressive dies to insure that your parts are made to the highest standard of quality on a cost effective basis.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in visual and final inspection within a manufacturing or refinery environment.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and equipment.
• Familiarity with stamping, deburring, and handling machined parts.
• Basic knowledge of document control procedures and quality management systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in quality inspection or related fields (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector).
• Experience working in refinery or heavy industrial settings.
• Knowledge of fire alarm system components and inspection requirements.
• Advanced skills in document control software and quality tracking tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed visual inspections of machined parts and refinery components to identify surface defects, dimensional inaccuracies, and other quality issues.
• Conduct final inspections to ensure all products comply with engineering drawings, specifications, and safety regulations, including fire alarm system components when applicable.
• Apply stamping and deburring processes to parts as required to meet finishing standards and prepare items for shipment or assembly.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions using document control systems.
• Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to address inspection findings and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with refinery safety protocols and quality standards throughout the inspection process.

Skills:

The required skills such as visual inspection and final inspection are applied daily to identify defects and ensure product quality before shipment. Precision measuring skills are essential for verifying that parts meet exact dimensional requirements, which directly impacts product performance and safety. Stamping and deburring skills are used to prepare parts for final use, ensuring they meet finishing standards and customer expectations. Document control skills enable the Inspector to maintain accurate records of inspections and compliance, facilitating traceability and quality audits.
