SCOPE:

The Site Manager at BCIT is responsible for being a direct link between the site administration and operations for Paladin and the client. He/she must ensure that all security operations are conducted appropriately and that the policies and objectives of Paladin Management are carried out accordingly. The Site Manager and the security team are an integral part of the BCIT experience. Exceptional customer service skills, tact, ability to think outside the box, and deliver a high end security program is vital to the success of this role.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Be current in all daily activities and advise the Client regularly on upcoming matters.
2. Conduct and oversee investigations into issues or incidents on site and provide complete and comprehensive reports to the Client and Senior Manager, Security Operations. Design and implement proactive operational plans to address site related issues or persistent incidents.
3. Anticipate and plan for major events that may have an effect on the security of the site or its occupants. Act as the Paladin operational lead on all major incidences.
4. Oversee the use and reporting of live dispatch, incident report software, security systems and systems related projects.
5. Maintain records and statistics as requested for monthly KPI (key performance indicators) to the Senior Manager, Security Operations.
6. Maintain TEAM Scheduling Software to ensure accuracy of scheduling. Maintain site margins in accordance with the expectations and directions, as set out by the Senior Manager, Security Operations Manager.
7. Request and maintain records of special coverage requirements.
8. Accept after-hours phone coverage and be the site officer’s first contact for external management. Attend the site in emergent cases.
9. Continue to develop skills in the areas needed to improve to provide the best value for BCIT.
10. Maintain staffing levels for the site. Conduct all site level interviews for prospective staff before initiating training to meet the highest standards for deployment. Oversee that all training requirements are completed.
11. Provide continued mentorship and coaching to the Paladin management team.
12. Dictate when site staff meetings will occur and administer the meetings as seen fit.
13. Be involved in all final stage disciplinary action and ensure due diligence is involved with all disciplinary documentation at site.
14. Maintain a strong working relationship with the Senior Manager, Security Operations, keeping them up to date with the events on site.
15. Responsible for business continuity and emergency preparedness planning for the site.
16. Perform other duties as required and/or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of supervisory security experience or a combination of experience and relevant education. This includes the successful completion of the Paladin Supervisor and Leadership Development Training, or the willingness to complete this training.

Preference will be given to candidates already acting in a Supervisory role at present or who have acted in this capacity in recent history. Only candidates with previous supervisory experience will be considered.
