Who are we?
Since 2015, Nevada Behavioral Health Systems (NBH) has been providing mental health and substance abuse services to residents across Nevada. By collaborating with a diverse network of experienced behavioral healthcare providers, we have built a community-based care system that offers members personalized options tailored to their individual needs. In 2023, we rebranded as NovumHealth with the expansion of our services in Arizona, California, and Utah.
Position: Data Analyst
Location: Las Vegas, NV – Onsite (This role is not eligible for Remote or Hybrid)
Starting Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000
The starting salary range for this role is a reasonable estimate, with a goal to pay a competitive market salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education and certification, skills, and internal pay equity.
What’s the role?
The Data Analyst is responsible for leveraging data to uncover actionable insights that drive clinical, operational, and business decisions. This role requires expertise in healthcare analytics, specifically in interpreting clinical and operational data requests, managing large claims datasets, and developing data visualizations that effectively tell a story to diverse stakeholders. Proficiency with healthcare frameworks such as HEDIS, NCQA, and value-based care metrics is critical to success in this role.
What you’ll do:
•Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to translate requests into actionable queries and analytics that inform decision-making.
•Analyze large datasets, including claims data, to uncover trends, identify risks, and generate insights related to cost, utilization, and quality.
•Develop dashboards and visualizations in Power BI to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, tailoring presentations to executive stakeholders when necessary.
•Design and implement frameworks for tracking healthcare performance metrics, including HEDIS, NCQA, and value-based care measures.
•Perform data cleaning and validation to ensure the accuracy and reliability of datasets.
•Create comprehensive reports that combine storytelling with quantitative insights to drive actionable recommendations.
•Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement or cost optimization through data analysis.
•Support ad hoc requests for data analysis, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, IT, and operations, to ensure alignment of data analytics with organizational goals.
•Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices in healthcare analytics.
What you’ll bring:
•Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics and statistical modeling.
•Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
•Advanced proficiency in Power BI for developing dashboards and visualizations.
•Strong SQL skills for querying relational databases and preparing datasets for analysis.
•Experience with data cleaning and working with large, complex datasets.
•In-depth understanding of healthcare performance metrics, including HEDIS, NCQA, and value-based care frameworks.
•Exceptional storytelling skills to present data in a meaningful way to diverse stakeholders.
•Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to uncover insights and recommend solutions.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain complex data findings to non-technical audiences.
What you’ll need to start:
