Since 2015, NovumHealth/Nevada Behavioral Health Systems (NBH) has been providing mental health and substance abuse services to residents across Nevada. By collaborating with a diverse network of experienced behavioral healthcare providers, we have built a community-based care system that offers members personalized options tailored to their individual needs. In 2023, we rebranded as NovumHealth with the expansion of our services in Arizona, California, and Utah.

Position: Director, Healthcare Informatics
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada – Onsite (This role is not eligible for Remote or Hybrid)
Starting Salary Range: $130,000 per year
The starting salary range for this role is a reasonable estimate, with a goal to pay a competitive market salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education and certification, skills, and internal pay equity.

What’s the role?
The Director of Healthcare Informatics is responsible for leading and executing Novum Health's informatics, analytics, data governance, and healthcare technology initiatives. This leader-doer role combines strategic oversight with hands-on responsibility for data analysis, reporting, system optimization, business intelligence, and technology-enabled process improvement.

The Director serves as a key partner to executive leadership, translating organizational objectives into actionable data and technology solutions while directly managing critical informatics projects, developing reporting tools, maintaining data integrity, and driving operational excellence. This position ensures that healthcare information systems, analytics, and business processes support high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, workforce effectiveness, and organizational growth.

What you’ll do:

Strategic Informatics Leadership
• Develop and implement Novum Health's informatics strategy and roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead informatics projects from planning and implementation through evaluation and optimization.
• Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on healthcare informatics, business intelligence, reporting, and data governance.
• Translate organizational priorities into actionable informatics initiatives, measurable outcomes, and system enhancements.
• Establish and maintain data governance standards, policies, and best practices.
• Monitor emerging healthcare technologies and recommend solutions that support organizational objectives.
• Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities for data-driven decision-making and operational improvement.

Data Architecture & Integration
• Support the design, maintenance, and optimization of data structures and reporting environments used across the organization.
• Manage data integrations between organizational systems to ensure accurate and timely data exchange.
• Work with vendors and technical partners to establish, maintain, and troubleshoot system interfaces and data feeds.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of reporting databases, data models, and automated reporting processes.
• Ensure data sources are properly linked, reconciled, and validated to support organizational reporting and analytics needs.
• Identify opportunities to automate data collection, validation, and reporting activities.

Data Analytics, Reporting & Business Intelligence
• Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards, reports, and analytics tools used by leadership and operational teams.
• Collect, validate, analyze, and interpret data to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Build and maintain key performance indicator (KPI) reporting to monitor organizational performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Create executive-level presentations, data summaries, and actionable recommendations based on analysis of workforce, operational, financial, compliance, and clinical data.
• Respond to ad hoc reporting requests and conduct complex analyses to support organizational priorities.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of organizational reporting and metrics.

Compliance & Data Governance
• Establish and maintain organizational data governance standards, definitions, and reporting methodologies.
• Conduct regular audits of data quality, system access, documentation, and reporting accuracy.
• Develop and enforce data governance frameworks and security practices.
• Facilitate audits related to system access, documentation, data accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

Project management & Process Improvement
• Independently manage informatics, reporting, and technology projects from planning through implementation and evaluation.
• Develop project plans, timelines, requirements, and communication strategies.
• Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure milestones, deliverables, and organizational objectives are achieved.
• Identify opportunities for automation, process redesign, and operational efficiencies through technology and data-driven solutions.
• Utilize analytics to evaluate organizational performance and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

Training, Consultation and Stakeholder Support
• Serve as an internal consultant to leaders and staff regarding reporting, analytics, systems functionality, and data interpretation.
• Develop and deliver training programs related to organizational systems, reporting tools, data literacy, and informatics best practices.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to stakeholders regarding technology adoption and system utilization.
• Translate complex technical information into meaningful and actionable insights for non-technical audiences.

Team Leadership
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate informatics and analytics staff.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Establish departmental goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
• Manage departmental budgets and vendor relationships as assigned.

Other Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform other duties, special projects, and assignments as required to support organizational objectives and evolving business needs.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives, committees, task forces, and organizational improvement efforts.
• Provide support during audits, regulatory reviews, accreditation activities, and strategic initiatives.
• Assist with the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of new systems, technologies, and operational processes.
• Serve as a resource and advisor to leadership on emerging issues, organizational priorities, and informatics-related opportunities.
• Support business continuity, change management, and organizational growth activities as needed.
• Assume additional responsibilities consistent with the scope and level of the position.

What you’ll need to start:
• Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 7+ years of progressive experience in healthcare informatics, healthcare analytics, information systems, or related fields in a payor, health plan, or value-based care organization.
• Minimum of three (3) years of leadership or management experience.
• Experience overseeing healthcare information systems, reporting platforms, business intelligence tools, and data governance initiatives.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one BI or dashboarding platform (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)

What will make you stand out:
• Direct, hands-on experience with healthcare data.
• Experience designing or implementing data governance standards.
• Track record of both strategic planning and hands-on execution.
• Comfort working directly with C-suite and payor-facing executives, translating data into a negotiating position or a board-level narrative.
• Strong knowledge of cloud and on-premises database technologies (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
• Experience with ETL tools like Azure Data Factory or Informatica.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Behavioral health or Medicaid/Medicare managed care experience.
• Experience standing up an analytics or informatics function from an early or informal state, rather than inheriting a mature one.
• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects independently.
